Bulldozer Rig

I'm looking to build a bulldozer rig and was going to sell one of my i7 rigs to put cash towards it. I was thinking of getting a crosshair formula v. With the processors not out yet would I be able to use the below processor to run the machine until the new cpus came out just to have it up and running? Also would the crosshair being a 990fx board fully support all features of the new chips? I'm just making sure as I havent built an amd machine since a socket 939.

apparently, via the asus cpu support list, it will take the 215

but... lol... are you saving money? cos the 215 is the scraping the bottom of the barrel!

No, I just meant as an example would it take the older cpu's as it was being designed for the bulldozer stuff. I would get something a little better than that but not by much. I would just use the pc for media until the bulldozer chip comes over as I still would have another i7 pc.

yes, the 215 would be ample for JUST media stuff.

but the 990chipset would be hindered, until you eventually put a BD on it

it's a good plan, cos you don't want a vacant mid-CPU lying around that no-one wants to buy off you

Yea exactly and none of my smaller machines are amd so i would have no use for it then unless i upgraded maybe my htpc but it works perfect as it is.
