I'm upgrading the bulldozer, no doubt: even if it means upgrading my motherboard to an AM3+ (which I believe the new bulldozer chips will be using). Besides...AMD use new sockets MUCH less often than Intel.
I'll believe this when I see it but until then, sorry but I just don't think it's true.
I am not a Intel fanboy or a AMD one but I can not see AMD beating Intel on performance and certainly not 50%. If they had said 5% i'd believe it but not 50%.
I have read a similar article on Techpowerup which says
"Very little is known about the processor, including at what clock speed the processor was running at, much less what other components were driving the test machine."

On top of that we don't know if the tests are based on multi core or single core and what the tests were. Keep in mind the preview benches for the i5 2400 on Anandtech showed it beating the 980x at most things and definitely above the 950. If it is true credit where credits due and hats off to AMD but the proof is in the pudding and I ain't finished dinner yet.
Maybe 50% after 2 years of it being out the perfected the gpu and motherboards.

I'm really trying to hold out for the bulldozer.. Hoping it will be as they said.. but When is it going to be released.. I thought it was going to be released in jan. but then I heard feb. I'm hoping I don't hear march soon..
So is Bulldozer going to have a GPU in it too? Also will there be any disabled overclocking features like sandy?
I hope not in regards to both.![]()
Only Bobcat will have an integrated GPU, Bulldozer wont also i don't think there will be any issues with overclocking unlike Intel from what i can gather.
Has 100% more cores but can only produce a 50% speed increase over a i7-950, not to impressive
