Built a new rig

RIght today i built a mid range rig for a buddy.

Installed everything turned it on.. everything seems to be working fine.. install vista still seems to be working.

Problem is when i restart the rig having installed the graphics card drivers.. it just hangs before the log on screen, i tried leaving it for ages just stays. The card is 9800gt, ive tried loadsssss of different drivers and the same problem comes from everything.

Just wondered if anyone has any ideas? im trying another set of drivers now.. lets see.

I dunno what to suggest really. It's a weird problem. What drivers have you installed before hand?

just tried to install the nvidia drivers. It boots up and displays when vista installs its own drivers but only at low resolutions. The card isnt recognised as a 9800GT but as a standard VGA adpater. Its really confusing.

Why don't you try the automatic update feature of Vista? It has worked for my graphic card on my notebook before, just do right click on the "Standard VGA adapter" in device manager, Update Driver, and choose Search for Driver Online.
