Onwards to the fan tray.
I think I am almost satisfied with the final version now. Just a little comparison of where I started and where I ended up. There were countless variations inbetween and failed attempts. But here we are. (excuse the poor quality. Late night and bad lighting)
Centre connections from left to right, the first one downloaded from Thingiverse, then my variations.
The Top and bottom connectors which attach to the fan rail blocks. I opted for a nice all in one solution.
Side connections to provide good stability.
However, I wasnt happy with visible screws. I tried for a more clever design, but the prints just were not possible with the current nozzle size I have.
What I did do though is to use screws for the hidden side, and then choose a nice smooth finish for the interior view.
So here we are with one side. Screws all over the place to give it some true strength.
And the side which will be visible inside the case, considered as Pinned and "screwless"
I also opted for just one Corsair text. In addition to that I kept the very central piece coloured with the White sails, but left the top and bottom ones in black. I may fill them at a later date. It took about 2 hours to fit the printed sails inside.
It doesn't stop there however. No one likes the reverse side of fans, with their specs and brand jargon stuck on the centre. I chose to hide this.
They aren't fixed permanently yet as I hadn't decided on the orientation of the fan cables in each position.
I also made a small attempt at a little glamour for the front side hub points. As there is a little corsair sail there hollowed out. I made sure I left a recess for some vinyl
No idea how it will turn out inside the case, but I am hoping some white lighting shining throughout the interior will give it a little gleam.
