"Blitz the competition" - Win a Blitz Extreme in association with ASUS and OC3D

It was all going so well.

Updated bios to the latest(using EZ flash) because I was getting some issues with the current one. Flash went fine but the bios was not as good as previous so I wanted to revert to the older bios. The only way this is possible is by using Asus's Windows flash utility as EZ flash dosn't like you reverting to older bios. This is where the problems started. Flash went fine or so it appeared but on reboot I get the constant power up/power down phase = dead board.

So....how do I RMA the board when it was a competition? Is this possible? Will Asus accept it as obviously I don't have a reciept?

i dont see why not, since its still one of there boards under warranty...

Have to wait for one of the mods to confirm this though

Damn...That really sucks BIG TIME!!! I can feel your pain. :(

But, like teknokid said, I'm pretty sure you have a warrany and use it to RMA this mobo, if it'll appear that it's really DEAD.

I would advice you to go to ASUS website and Register your motherboard by filling up your personal details and the S/N of the motherboard.

I don't think ASUS really are if the motherboard was given for free or bought from them, or at least they shouldn't.

I'd also wait for the modders/admins to confirm that.

GOOD LUCK and keep us updated...:wavey:

I suggest u contact the competition organizers - JIM, ASUS & OTHERS

Asus have different departments and in different countries.

Thx for the suggestions and support guys. I will PM you when I get home from work in a short while PV5150 - your help is much appreciated.

Totally gutted that the board is broke as it is a rock solid affair and finding a DDR3 replacement atm is a pita! I can't really afford to be without a board for weeks so I'll have to get some cheap ddr2 in the meantime and a basic board just so I can access my hd's as my only pc access atm is via a celeron based 512mb laptop - a far cry from 4ghz Quad core goodness:(.

I had read all about the problems with asus boards and asus update but I had no choice but to use it to revert back to an older bios - first time I ever used windows flashing software (floppy fan myself) and it will certainly be the last!

At least there is hope on the horizon now.

I always use the windows based software, i cba with all the floppyness. just click flash and your done :)

Get the P5KC, which although is about £100, supports ddr2 and 3, so would be pretty good for you i think :)

go into pc world, and get yourself, Gigabyte GA-PE35C-DS3 (supports ddr3), i think they are £99.99 atm, when your done with your mobo ie. got it back from rma, bring the ds3 back and ask for a full refund. dont worry if you do that within 28 days, youre fine. we get customers like that all the time :)

btw iirc i remember you have put aftermarket waterblocks on your blitz if thats the mobo you have used in Tiger style build, didnt that void your warranty?

Im not keen on the windows way of flashing.. I like to use EZ Flash. :)

Plonk the ROM on a USB flash drive and you're off. ;)

Hope the RMA goes alright webbo.

Thats a point about removing the sinks, but since that isnt why it went wrong, i cant see them saying too much about that since its unrelated..

Good idea about pcworld!

I also don't like flashing through windows. I mainyl flash my BIOS the "old way", but using a flash drive instead of a diskette...;)

lmfao, im doing the exact same for my mobo with pc world, got my new IP35 pro coming back so in the mean time i got a cheap £49.99 mobo from pc world, some gigabyte thing.

Works a charm, taking it back on monday XD

Hope you get the mobo sorted bud, must be gutting having it break.

Past month iv had a mobo and ram doa, then sent off an 8800gt which arrived doa, rofl, gotta love those three amazing letters, R, M, A.
