Gettin' back to it i suppose.... the quad ssd mount i wanted is sold out and it doesn't seem to be coming back. This in the meantime, will have to make do.

Also new in the shots are modular wires previously not installed.....

march13002_zpsf1cdf6f5.jpg

and for my next lesson im going to teach you guys how to tie a "will knot"

As in..... This WILL (K)NOT BE EASY!!!

march13055_zpsde05e7c0.jpg

This is where the Alchemy cables are at a disadvantage. A direct wire from PSU to final destination on designated part is soooo sooo soo so much easier to hide all neat and proper like.

as a good jumping off point, the back of the CPU (where i did decide to mount a pair of Mushkin 60gb ssd's) will be getting a window to make room for the backside VRM blocks

march132009_zps245b9d85.jpg

"tuck tuck stuff stuff" and a lil wire comb-over....

march132003_zpsde3e74b6.jpg

And then i had a good idea....ever wish you had a good use for those extra expansion slot covers left over from where your video card(s) go(es)???

these just happened to fit perfectly on the bottom of the Switch here, and it left me wishing there were more spots all around the case too!!!

there is a whole wire retention system (figuratively) bouncing arround my head....

Having not been a member when this started and having just read through this thread: Holy shitballs this is turning out awesome!

The only thing bugging me ever so slightly if it was my build (I wish!) are the unsleeved PSU ends of the power cables. Or will those not be visible in the final build?

Yeah, im kinda hoping the Nzxt rep is paying attn. Would LOVE to see somthiing like this implemented.

And yes, i will make a small cover for those wires. I just cut a hole out of the back panel yesterday.... ill prolly make it out of that

Ok.....time to cut the hole in the backside panel (those waterblocks on the back of the VRMS dont fit under the panel)

so out come the trust ol' tools...(oh wait.....i never put them away!!!)

i prefer to start my cuts with a dremel....
march11165_zpsbc0cc794.jpg

but i dont like using it for looooooong cuts. that's what the jigsaw is for....if anyone is wondering....Bosch is the brand of choice for jigsaws.....true for blades as well....

march11163_zpse1da23c6.jpg

march11162_zps02afa830.jpg

and my tip for files.....

yard sales, the older the better (as long as they were cared for and not abused) steel was just better back then....todays crap is soooo brittle

march11167_zpsc1052b2e.jpg

this is a first....im missing a few pics.....not sure what happened???

this is the hole tho...keep in mind the glass is not final glass.... im working on getting one lazer eched w/ "NZXT. 980Z"

march11x2005_zpse1186a7f.jpg

sorry i had to use my phone for this one....(left my camera at a ladyfriends apt. last night....(if all goes well, ill have some surprise pics, lol))
anywho....
WP_001320_zpsdbbb3dd5.jpg

no, that o/c sticker wont stay....i think im actually going to cut the white part off of the ssd stickers entirely...

WP_001327_zpsaca15109.jpg

NOW WERE GETTING SOMEWHERE!!!

Next stop, flushing out the system... since this build has taken a while, more dust and crap than usual has most likely made its way into the openings...so flush it i will....

march11178_zps10f7a391.jpg

so To Be Continued

(i may even do a vid???)

I think the outsides of the back window need straightening up and finishing better, its a great idea but the details are letting that bit down atm in my eyes.

hellz yeah, it aint done.....the real window is being laser etched with NZXT. 980-Z and yes....i will clean up the edge for the final fit, as well as tucking the wires a lil' better....

which leads me to my next question.....

anybody living in the states good at whipping out a quick design for me???

id like to have a decal printed up of an NZXT. logo but orange....30mm tall lettering.... as well as a 980-Z in the same font but 25mm tall...

i could compensate for time with some parts???

any takers???

OH MY filling this loop in nerve racking in every sense of the word.....

no leaks yet, but i haven't spun the pump up yet though....

pics coming soon....real soon

bummer.....first speed bump.....

i dont think the pump likes having its feed-line at a downward angle from the res........

its airbound.......ill keep moving it around before changing the res setup......but i may have to....

uggg.....this res is not the right res for the job...too big of a loop for such a small res.....i had a feeling this would be the case, but i really liked the looks.....oh well time to go shopping...any suggestions???

think i like the looks of this one.....still technically a single bay.....but it has waaaaay more capacity

you should have sleeved your PSU instead of those extensions. it would have been pretty cheap if you used para-cord and it would look cleaner, of course you would also need patience.

not a fan of sleeving.....too much work for what you get....

i like it on a NON-modular psu tho

guess its just a personal preference
