Black and Orange Z77 Switch 810

Is that the NZXT LED kit? If so, turn down the brightness a notch. It bleaches out the coolant color a little too much (In pictures, at least. It might be fine IRL.)

only does it for the camera......

but no....it's not Nzxt, it's auto part store stuff....same manufacturer as the Bitfenix strips tho...

and what i did was wire it into the #6 channel on the Nzxt fan controller... so yes, i can turn it down a smidge

Hi, nice rig, i love the orange!

You mentioned the Viper 140mm fans. I have one of those along with some Gnetle Typhoons and some Yate Loons, the Viper PWM is bar far the loudest of the lot and im only using it as a case fan. If i had known before i wouldnt have gone for that one - just a heads up.

Also, nice to see you've delidded! Welcome to the Club! Post your temps, findings, and overclocks here if you want. It would be cool to see what temps and info others have.

Looking good mate, love the orange. I disagree about the viper fans, I've got 4 of the 120's in push pull on my 240 rad, and a 140 as an exhaust, they are silent. That is until they are on full boar, then they sound like they are taking off. I can hear the pump from my XSPC X20 over the fans on low. I'm going to invest in 6 more for my 360 rad when money allows.

temps, overclocking, and a man named Nick

oh man, ill start this post with a big ol' WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im impressed.....l 5ghz and fairly low temps??? i like it!!!

anywho.... here are some 4.4ghz stats.. @1.34v fans down

43.75 (average)
22c (ambient)
21.75 delta!!!

here is a screengrab of me just trying to maxxx out the chip.....

as you can see, so far im able to get 5.1ghz @ 1.488....

tyuytuty_zpse516cf72.png

but as far as the 24/7 overclocks go ill be sticking with 4.6ghz@1.22v

ill do an hour of linpack right now..

ill be back

the closest ive come is an FX8350 that i hit 5.6 on water.......

but 1modual was dead......

i thought i had somthing special.....rma'd it.....prolly shoulda kept it but it was for my cousins rig, and he wanted the octocore. not a 6

but this one does seem nice.....fingers crossed.....(corse it could have something to do with the 22miles of radiator in the case!!!)

Love this build log :)

Just read from page1 all the way through to this page (15) :D

Only a few things that I don't like but probably just personal preference.

The components are just amazing and having a proper build log just makes it that much better and shows the work and time involved in putting it all together.

well...i know the color doesnt jive, but i got a cure for that....but no, i wont paint them....

they're just quieter....flat out.....

f*ck the aesthetics, noctua fans > everything. i am considering to build a brown rig because of that. with brown fluid. maybe some fake poo on the outsides. toilet rig.

thats funny...i was joking around with my lil brother about just this earlier today....a swirling toilet resivior complete with log!!! yellow fluid....

and to finish it off....a couple corn kernels

Depending on how long my Spectre Pros hold up (so far I'm very happy with them, but some people seem to be having troubles with bearing noises and such) I will go for the same fans. Pretty much the best (not very noisy) 140 for a radiator, at least from those I've found (and I've looked bloody everywhere).

Very much looking forward to how this comes together :)

ahhh yes... i decided that i did not care for the front fan cover. so i made a new one!!!

ive also decided that i would not be using the "snap shut" feature of the top vent either.....

so i picked up some modders mesh from AC Ryan.. and a fine mesh it was....(wish i got the 2mil tho....

i did paint that logo myself....all i did was print out an "nzxt" logo, masking taped the mesh, taped the logo to it, and cut it out with an X-acto knife....after that its just a simple matter of dbbl checking that the edges are down and wont bleed, and spraying it...

the top was really easy....spray mesh, cut mesh, glue mesh.....

done!!!

i will be going over that odd "chevy" looking hole the switch left upon removal with the handle to the hot swap bay....looks good here i think....

still a mess in here,,, but the rig looks nice...

anywho....next is getting the noctua's in the top....ive shot a vid of the noise the cougars make (not the 44y/o lonely lady) the fans....

ill upload the comparison after i shoot the noctuas....

Wow, that mesh looks the shit! Just lovely (both the front and top) :)

Looking forward to that fan comparison, very curious about that.

Looks okay (to me, this is just my opinion lol), but I would have modded the original front panel by just gutting the inner part of it, so there was like a 1" border of the original plastic left. The bare mesh at the top looks kinda wonky to me. Also, is it just me, or does the front mesh look bent on the left side in the next-to-last pic?

The top looks awesome though. I like what you did with using the hot swap handle to cover the ugly hole where the latch part used to be. Now you just need to mod the power LED and change it to orange :D.
