Black and Orange Z77 Switch 810

Looks really good so far.

No chance of getting another set of fans underneath on the top rad?
I just get away with it in my Switch 810. Worth a try, and I think the extra accents of the orange fan blades would look good.

And the Mushkin logo will go when you fill the loop (assuming you're using coloured coolant)

everyting in this build being 140mm based makes for really tight fits....i could prolly get em in if i dropped down to a 120/92mm exhaust fan, changed the rotary to a barb fitting, and dropped the tube from the top of the VRM block waaaay down and in.....and i DO have the fans.....

i guess i just placed more importance upon the aesthetical emphasis of the loop (i think i just made up a word)

k.o.

here is the vid i promised,,,it's short but you'll get the point

big snag

OH NO!!! this is going to get to me....

i was pretty happy with the noise of the pump....the res is quiet...i get a small trickle in one of the rads.....but when i fired up the fans, i got this low pitched buuuuuuuuzzzzzz!!!

ok, no big deal right??? ill just swap out the offender. test one at a time, cant find it, test again, again, wtf???

oh my, its all of them:nutkick:

not too sure what im going to do but replacing 10 fans could get expen$ive

i cant even find the words to describe my thoughts on this rig..... all ill say is your a fucking maniac!!!!!

but in the nicest and most respectful way :)

amazing job dude cant wait to see more

yeah, ill shoot a vid of the buzzzz tomorrow, i think what i may do is replace the top 3 fans with some Akasa Viper 140s....109cfm/3mmh20, maybe the 2 in the front as well...

but for now,

i just installed w7 64bit

Love myself some naked dies

Although I probably won't do it for my next build; CPUs were way too expensive to try something like that (I'll possibly lap them).

im not scared.....send it to me.....ill do it for you.....it was quite the thrill!!!

Here are the first temp shots......this is at ST0CK mind you....i havent yet connected to the net so i can only run a linepack test atm....ill do a "powersupply" run after i can update my directX

Oh I'm sure it was
Was the IHS soldered or fixed with some sort of glue/paste?

Mine are two, actually (X5680's). I did indeed consider making them naked, but when doing my research I found out that they are soldered, which dissuaded me somewhat from the idea. I can't really afford to go and buy another one if I (or you ;)) screw it up. I paid about half price for the ones I have, and they are not engineering samples, but still, that's not exactly cheap enough to go and do surgery on them, provided I even find them for that price again.

But thanks for the offer! ;)

yeah, Ivy bridge is a Glued ihs....with shit for TIM.... really, they have poop throwing monkey's on Intel payroll to get their dung for TIM

well'z, i gotta say im not too impressed with my #1 card temps...

in heaven 4.0 the top card hits a max of 50c on ultra with the fans all the way down....

but everything else in the system wont crack 38.....

im hoping it's a block pressure issue, later ill loosen up the block, give 'er a wiggle. and re-tighten them back down.... hope that'll help as i dont want to REALLY start given the overclocks a hard go until my temps are where i want them....

window dressing...

the way i usually do my windows is with a lil bit of the door trim you can pick up at the local auto shop...you know, the stuff you put on so when the wind catches your door at the mall, it dosn't bash the shit outta your neighbors ride...

i do use a heat gun to help me around the corners tho... and my biggest tip would be to make sure you dont begin or end a section too close to a corner. the more glue before and after the seam,,, the more unlikely it is to move...

when it comes time to stick the lexan down,,, hands down one of the stickiest lil buggers ive found are these 'command' strips by 3M... they hold like the dickens and come off clean when you want them to.... its like double stick tape on steroids.... (i use it on alot of stuff actually)

Why didn't you use the stock window the case comes with? Just wondering.

Also, that orange coolant looks epic. Nice job on the color mixing :)
