I'm not creative enough to come up with a name for this rig yet.

Not sure on the cooling yet. Probably going with air cooling just because it is cheaper. But Water cooling is something I could easily invest in after the whole rig is built.

This system will prbbaly take awhile to be built, but as I am impatient and not rich I'll be buying the parts as I can afford them.

Then I'll borrow some parts from my old system to get it running, then replace parts one by one.

I'll post picutes of the parts as I get/fit them.

I've worked with building computers before, but this is my first personal build. Please be nice

The core components:

• Bitfenix Prodigy White
  
• ASUS P8Z77-I DELUXE
  
• Corsair GS600v2 (thinking about removing the un-used cables and doing some braiding)
  
• 16GB DDR3 RAM (don't really have a brand in mind)
  
• Intel Core i5 3570K
  
• Corsair 240gb FORCE GT (Or maybe 2x120Gb)
  
• 1TB HDD (no brand preference yet, for media storage)
  
• HD 7970

I haven't really given it much thought. It will probably be a reference design card because that's probably what'll be in stock.

Plesant surprise look what showed up on my doorstep!

Finally I thought it would be a bit rocky with those rounded "handles" at the bottom turns out you can easily remove then....Not sure how I feel about the look though.

Hey going to be looking forward to it! Ima be doing something similar myself in a month or two as well. Personally though, in a small form factor build I would go with some sort of modular PSU but if you can do it why not. Also, aren't force GTs a bit old now? I would think something along the lines of a 520 would be better no? Also, why would you get two 120s because RAIDing SSDs isn't the greatest idea.

I'll need to see if a modular PSU will fit, often they are longer than non-modular ones.

Yes the GT series GFX cards are pretty old, I was actually talking about the corsair GT SSDs (why they try to confuse us with identical names if beyond me

).

It's just the the 120gb SSDs are cheaper/GB. But the 240gb would be much more convient.

you can use notebook drives for space consideration. fast boot SSD and dual

160/250/500/750GB 5400/7200 notebook drives RAID0.

EDIT: Go with 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM. Also, I don't think you can simply cut away unused PSU Cables. Just go with a TX650M / HX650 / AX650

UPDATE

More stuff!

Got the motherboard and CPU today.

Now (using a few borrowed old parts) I have my system up and running!

And with a cooler I'm borrowing.

Cosy fit

A forseeable problem, front HD audio is obstructed. I'll be able to fix it with an adapter when I get the time.

All the excess cables are annoying. I'll probably make custom length cables and use a modular PSU when I upgrade.

I have not finished my build yet. I have just bought the bare minimum parts to move from my old AMD system. Eventually, (2-3 weeks) I'll buy more parts

I know. It is HUGE in comparision. <sarcasm> I'm thinking this won't provide adequet cooling, Think I'll have to buy a D14 </sarcasm>

On that note, The D14 IS compatible with this motherboard.... ;D

As you are going to be watercooling are you planning to mod the side panel so you can see it all inside?

So looking around the case as it is now. CABLES EVERYWHERE! When I watercool I seriously want to put a window in this, and my biggest concern is cables everywhere. digikey sell all the molex connectors and pins I would need to crimp my own cables, I'm thinking of combining this with a modular corsair. So my cables would be the length I need them.

Right now I'm thinking MDPC-X sleeving and using silicon wire from hobbyking. I've read on other forums silicon wire works well.

Plently of room when the cables are cleaned up.

Still lots of clearance. (Also front panel audio adapter fitted)

Still going to braid the cables. Currently they look a bit ugly.

And now for something completely different! I'm still poor So I decided to start working on a front panel interface for FAN/temp readouts.
