Hello OC3D forum. I recently started a new build geared towards a solid mid-range system and thought I would share it with the forum. Its been awhile since Ive built a computer so any advice on the build will be greatly appreciated, my next step is a graphics card so please if you have any ideas I would like to hear them. This is what I have so far...

System Specs

Asus P8Z77-V Motherboard
Kingston HyperX 16GB DDR3 1600MHz

case looks clean except for those cables, can you run them behind the motherboard tray? get extensions if theyre not long enough. if done properly it will look a 100x better.

for the graphic card, whats your budget and what resolution do you play in?

The power supply I have in now is just a cheap 450 watt Antec that I got

for next to nothing and has super short cables. I have a Thermaltake Platinum 600 Watt on the

way so for now the wiring is a little messy.:headscratch:

As for the graphics card, a higher end card would be nice but it doesn't

have to be the best, I always liked Nvidia so what ever is good from them

will work for me.

if youre in desperate need for a gpu i'd go for a 660ti or a 670, but personally i'd wait until 760 or something in those lines is released, you might wanna go for 760 or just get a 670 for the price of a 660ti :)

Looks really nice. I think you should get a new PSU with some nice braided cables, that will look even better. Although you could get a graphics card first.

Hey guys thanks for your posts soon as my new power supply comes Ill clean up the wiring and snap some new pics, it should be here early next week Im hoping. The 660Ti looks like a fine card indeed, can also run in an SLI configuration which I like and is affordable. I think for me something like the 660Ti is all I need and when Im ready to upgrade, I'll just throw in another 660Ti and run it in an SLI configuration, I don't know what do you think?

Hi,

I just joined Overclocker3D to see interior pics of your Rig. (I've read the Forum from time to time but never got enough jam to try some serious Overclocking like some of the Folks here.)

I too have the same Ghost Case and I tonight am installing the Seidon 240mm Cool Master Water Cooler. But no joy - no pics showing the interior mounts.

I'll just have to figure it out on my own.

I hope your Rig build went well!

Regards,

Hi Gents,

Thanks for the encouragement. I won't hijack this thread will my Rig but post elsewhere. (And yes I do have Pics...)
