BFBC2

So yea just got BFBC2 for PC and the game is awesome, but the gun sounds suck @$$! So let me start by saying "I have all the sound settings on high with War Tapes as the selection." This problem happens on my Klipsch pro media, Z-5500, G930s, and G35s. When I shoot a gun it then muffles the other sounds?! For example if Haggard is talking and I start shooting my assault rifle or LMG, for every gun sound Haggard is muffled as well as most ambient sounds. My question is why? I know its not my sound card/Logitech Drivers because I do not get this problem in MoH. So if their is a setting I missed please tell me.

Now to how unrealistic the Guns sound in BFBC2, they all pretty much sound nothing like the real thing as MoH does better. I have shot a good amount of weapons in BC2 in real life and they don't even sound close, it sounded like someone was having fun with the BASS of each gun and upping it to MAX.

Must be your settings, man, war tapes sounds splendid on my Z2300s and X-fi. Sounds like your bass may be set too high? Just a thought. From what I understand the different settings are just equalizer settings. Thus, this would make sense.

I don't get any muffling at all. What are you using for a sound board? Just because it doesn't happen in MOH doesn't mean it's not what's wrong here. I know it's the same engine (in multi), but they're not identical games.

the thing is is that it doesn't happen in ANY other game that i play, jut this. sound muffling generally occurs when the bass is going through the wrong set of speakers, or your sound system cant take it. My Klipsch system and my z5500 can most defiantly take it and my G930s should too. my sound card is the stock one that came with my crosshair formula III. I am just convinced it was poor sound design, all the sounds in BFBC2 are either wrong or sound terrible anyways. good thing i got the game for free

BFBC2 is known for having amazing sound and atmosphere. The sound of gunfire may not be realistic but one of the game's key aspects, as noted by reviewrs, was the sound.

the sounds they use are amazing but the quality is crap. im an audiophile so i know what good sound is and BFBC2 just sounds terrible. it has great atmosphere but explosions, gun shots, and other loud noises sound washed out and unrealistic. what is the point of adding sounds in an FPS if all the main sounds that make the FPS sound bad? they have to re-adjust a lot of the sounds, they crank up the ambient sounds which sounds unrealistic and annoying, and they upped the BASS on everything. for the last couple of hours in campaign mode i have been playing with no sounds because it just sounds awful. they need to add more sound options!

Well it seems like that you're the only one with this problem. Everything sounds so crisp and clear on my crappy speakers and in my in-ear phones. If anything, there was a major lack of bass.

im not the only one. most of the buddies i play with also experience this problem on high end hi-fi systems (not what gamers call high end like the Z-5500, im talking about $5000+ sound systems). maybe its because of our high end systems? trust me its not me, my systems are very fine tuned including my VERY expensive Klipsch Palladium system. if this problem does not occur in ANY OTHER application but this one how could it be my system? doesn't make very logical since. just because something is crisp doesn't mean it sounds good, and if you are playing on a cheap system you have not even experienced what real clarity is.
