The servers are hard to get because there a lot of people trying to get on also they are buggy and have really high pings.

but you need to just keep trying as they only use the password for a few minutes till the serves are full again and then you cant get in.

i am checking it out on the PS3 first, as so many people are having trouble getting online with the PC servers

There are limitations to what you can unlock, i can't use the mortar gagdet as it says "NOT IN THE BETA"

That sucks, I got the No limits info from the Battlefield.com site.

then go down the page that says Battlefield Beta FAQ and there are 3 columns of question/answers. Click on the top question in the 3rd column to the right.

A. YOU CAN PLAY FOR AS LONG AS YOU WANT DURING THE TIME OF THE BETA. THERE WILL BE NO CAP ON HOW FAR YOU CAN RANK UP OR WHAT YOU CAN UNLOCK.

So I wonder why they restricted the mortar? I have not played yet so can not give any real insight other than they (EA) fibbed a little or just have not got around to unlocking it yet. At least the Mortars still work here on OC3D.

PS. I have not even played yet. I keep getting an error stating PING is blocked and may be a firewall issue, but some guys that got early access and have had no issues before now get same issue since game went global, I am thinking it is just an issue with servers being completely full.

Disabling UPnP in your router (if possible) has helped connection problems for a few people.

And wow, Caspian is awesome, well worth it to keep trying to get into a server. Keep refreshing the server list filtered to it and players set to all but full, the servers usually crash at the end of a round so you have a better chance of getting in then.

Yes caspian is fun as hell, huge beautiful maps, great vehicles and equipment. I have not been able to get into a game using the QUICK MATCH button, instead click on the servers text link just below the button in blue, get in the game straight from a server not the QUICK MATCH button and you will have less problems.

All the games I have been in I have had no issues at all, have graphics all the way up and getting good frame rates and no lag so far. Have not had 1 issue as of yet.

beta is massive!!!, my i7 and 580 can handle it . minimum i've seen is 34 fps all on ultra settings and 4x aa. havent had problems with ping yet, guess im lucky

just wish there was atleast another map available for everyone

From what people have been saying, the BETA has no real ultra mode

It's a shame they closed the Caspian Border servers

such an awesome map in comparison to the rush one

Exactly, Metro doesn't even have a vehicle at the moment and it just feels like it's missing so much after playing a few rounds of Caspian Border. I really hope they bring it back before the beta is over.

Be careful about using quick match or joining any Metro Conquest servers (or just servers with more that a 32 player limit), the server files appear to have been leaked and these aren't official servers. Not sure how accurate they are but there are reports of it being a potential security risk to your account or possibly resulting in your rank getting reset to 1.
