I would like to purchase 2 ssds to put in raid 0. Is there any particular drives that are better for raid 0 over others and companys that will assist if a drive dies. I am not worried about losing data i just use my pc for gaming so that wont be a issue. If you guys could recommend me any drives i would really appreciate it :). thanks in advance :D

Anyone have an opinion on the new hyperx savage drive. Looks awesome and heard it performs really well.

HyperX 3k's for aesthetics, Neutron XT's for performance, Intels for quality, erm... talk to someone else about value :D I haven't seen a savage in the flesh or any tests yet but i'm sure they will be sweet.

There isn't anything in particular to look for when RAID0 SSD's, I would stick to the higher tier drives though. For me personally I don't find the performance increase of RAID0 noticeable, infact the rig with my array in is probably slowest as its W7 not W8.1, plus with the added initialization time. Unless multiple drives were an aesthetic feature I would just buy one big drive in the future.

You need one with an agressive garbage collection to cover your rear end, you dont mention motherboard so we cant comment on trim commands being passed through the raid (this is still an iffy area)

- Case: NZXT h440
- CPU: i7 4790k
- Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5
- RAM:12gb CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1600mhz i think
- Graphics:Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 980 4GB DDR5 PCI
- Primary Drive: WD 1TB 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive - Caviar Blue
- Power Supply: Soon to be 850 evga or superflower

Id hope you dont have 12GB :p

Look for SSD's with good garbage collection dude - has to be at a hardware level and fairly aggressive

If not youll drives will bog down with uncleaned blocks
