Best place for the fan?...

Hey guys,

I know that this will be an utterly retarded question... but which way would be the best position to put the fan... on the front panel itself, like picture 1, or on the inside of the case, as picture 2 shows:

I'm thinking as the dust filter on the front panel isn't the best in the world and is quite thick to be honest, not like Silverstones fine mesh magnetic dust filter for example.
And does it really matter all that much?... won't having the fans on the inside of the case frame, having it about 1 cm closer to the GPU, making it better at supplying airflow to the GPU, if you get my thinking here?...

Thanks,
Chrazey

Won't really matter. It looks better in the panel though. You can try it out for a week and see if the dust or temps get worse or better by putting them inside the chasis. Just make sure to clean the PC pretty well so you can get a good comparison. Takes pics of before and after..

The easy way though, leave them in the panel.

It does look a bit better, as they are hidden away... although both yes and no on the easy way by leave them in the panel.

Due to the cables are going through the case frame and into my Corsair Commander Mini, so if I pull the front panel off, the fan cables are still stuck. However, if I have them on the frame itself, then there's no issues with the fan cables at all, due to the fans being attached to the case frame and not the panel.

But then, how many times will I get that off?... I can simply just remove the filter itself from the front panel, clean it and put it back in ^_^

I'd just put them directly onto the frame of the case. Doesn't cause as many vibrations in the front panel and you can just jank the front panel off to clean dust filters and such without having to worry about cables.

True that, true that... will most likely go that route. Thanks mate! :)
