Need a laptop capable of playing the odd game, not all that bothered out it. Need it for uni you see, shouldn't have alot of gaming time tbh.

Needs:

Decent screen

Speedy

Slight gaming performance

I was looking at getting Macbook pro 13inch for £899.. So anything that would be a better deal really.

Coming from a Macbook 13" owner, I'd go for anything but the Macbook based on what you want to use it for. Check out the Sony Vaio FW series on eBay. Some great deals on there with high spec systems that have huge sexy screens.

My Macbook is great for train journeys and watching films on holiday etc, but it drove me up the wall when I tried to use it for a month solid when I was without a PC.

Hmm, i really have no clue what im looking for when it comes down to laptops though.. I just want as little clutter on it as possible, the HP laptops are awfully slow because they're so full of junk.

Well it sounds like you're not going to be moving it around much? Therefore I'd probably go for something with a 16" screen so you can actually use it without feeling like your using a laptop so much. I hate trying to multi-task on a small screen.

16" widescreen, decent dolby sound, HD3650......*slobbers*...i want one now!

EDIT: You wanna buy a Macbook?

haha, cheers jim.

Looks like a pretty good laptop. Not that i know anything about them really.

Aye i dont think ill be moving it all that much, it'll stay in my room or ill wack it in my bag for the odd lecture, 16 is more than managable.

Tar very much

I was going to say that: the Sony Vaio FW series are superb. I've played with one and was very impressed. Add in a Windows 7 free upgrade and you've got a great laptop, with high def Blu Ray for a pretty nice price

How much for the macbook Jim :D

Have a look at the Acer 8930G models.

MSI, ASUS should have some quality offerings too.

They all look pretty expensive for what they are imo. Seeing as some time ago £750 bought u a top laptop from the usual suspects, with Sony/Apple being the expensive ones. Now it seems they all want a piece of that "whatever we can get away with charging".

Jim, what price are u after ;)

EDIT: LMAO, posts about non-Apple variants for reasons, then 2 offers to buy the only one mentioned :p

Somewhere in the region of £800-850 if you want the accessories too (full-size Apple Alu keyboard, Mighty Mouse, Mini-DVI adapter). Has also been upgraded to 4GB RAM, dual boots Vista (Genuine copy included) and comes with all the original boxes etc.

All its ever been used for is working on the train so its as good as new tbh

[/end FS thread] :p
