Best Gaming headset

Well k4, I didn't opt for the AX Pro and went with Turtle Beach's X41. Got them from BB at the ridiculous price of $159. Long story short, I ordered the AX Pro from BB online instead of Walmart online, BB offered free delivery if you used their warehouse to store delivery rather than having them delivered to your front door, and Walmart's sale price of $149 price went back up to $159.99,... same as BB. Got my email announcing their arrival and went to the local BB to pick them up only to discover at the customer service counter that they had sent the wrong product,... the Tritton AX 5.1 Pro. I understand the AX 5.1 Pro is the same product but lacks the processor box and comes in a slightly darker color. Absolutely no difference in the headset itself. After a small bit of protest, they offered a 20% discount for the inconvenience on the reorder. That discount put the X41's at the same price of the AX Pro,... $159.99. I jumped on it,... complaining that I didn't want to wait another 3-5 days on another delivery cycle.

I've spent several days with the X41 and they sound pretty good. Not quite the separation I was expecting with the AX Pro's, but the fidelity is as close as I think I'll get to what the G35's offered. Being wireless is tip top,... I gotta tell ya. But you gotta be willing to deal with some noise in the system. Not as much as I understand people suffered with the old X4's, but noise nonetheless you wouldn't get from a wired system. Go slightly out of range and you get a good bit of popping and crackling. Try using them too close to a wireless network hub and more popping as the RF signals start competing with one another, including the RF signal from your wireless Xbox controller. Try using the analog analog inputs on the transmitter and you get hiss and hum galour. Stay digital and stay in range and the sound is rewarding. I was a bit disappointed in using the X41 with my laptop,... bad AC humming and several problems with the mic.
