So i am gonna build a rig in August that will consist of:

Asus Maximus IV Extreme

P67 Sabertooth

2600k

2500k

8GB Dominator RAM

8GB Mushkin Redline

Lightning XE

Originally i was going with the HAF X as i think the raw look of it is awesome and it has some high air flow

But then i realised the case is quite old and i wondered if there are any better cases out there?

What i need is high air flow because i am going air cooling

I don't have a budget so just tell me what YOU think is best and why

(NZXT Phantom not an option because i think it is effing ugly)

Well a case is a personal choice really.. I mean YOUR the one going to be seeing it everyday not everyone else so it depends what you like the look of.. The HAF X may be an old case but it's still fairly good.

Coolermaster 690 II adv - My current case plenty of air flow and good options for expanding into WC(beginners set-up though) does everything you need it to and at a tiny price for what you get

lian li A70(if you have no limit at all lol) - Lian li kinda pay for what you get type case massive case and led's itself to modding

Corsair D700 - 800 is good case to but for just air cooling the 700should do it has such a simple design to it very sleek and my case of choice for the future

Bitfenix colossus - cheap good looking(flashy....literally) plenty of room for airflow and a good price

All the above are good cases best but most expensive is probably the D700, However the 690 is an awesome case aswell if your looking for lower cost(and available in many colors lol)

I would say Lian-Li PC-A77F. Great airflow, big, simple looking and plenty of space to add watercooling gear in the future.

I think i'll stick with the HAF X

My HAF X lasted about 5 months before I'd had enough of it, great airflow, but poorly thought out in other areas mainly too small a back plate cut out and motherboard mounting holes thread with minimal effort.

My firend got a Corsair 600T in white, he did the same as I did with my 650D and put 2 x Noctua nf-p14's in the roof for exhaust and a 200mm Coolermaster Flowmaster in as the front intake, but he then put the mesh window in and attatched another 200mm Coolermaster Flowmaster fan, and it has fantastic airflow and looks sweet.

Yeah dude, if you're air cooling get the RV02. If you don't like it's presentation, get the Corsair 600T. Like Icekube said, that thing looks heaps nice with additional fans. Though, I remember when I wanted the HAF-X. I loved the way it looked, and still do. Then I saw Tom do a build in the Raven and didn't go back. The 90 degree presentation looks amazing.

But i still get a boner everytime i look at the HAF X

No but i seriously LOVE the looks even tho it may be a bit big and old....

It's the front i don't like about the Raven and i am not a case modder so that is out of the question...

Please CoolerMaster make a second version!!!!

EDIT: Has Tom done a YT vid of the Raven? if so can you link it pl0x?

Yes i remember now

And i think i will stick with the HAF X as imho the Raven doesn't justify it's airflow vs the looks of the HAF X

been very happy recently with the corsair 650D (secondary rig). my girlfriend's got a lian li big tower case she's pretty happy with. but she insulated it to prevent vibration noise.

Have you thought about the HAF 932 Advanced? Link

Slightly less overstated than the HAF-X, but still good cooling (3x230mm fans) and air flow. Also, now has a black interior.

Only thing it still doesn't have is dust filters on the intakes, but you can easily mod something for that.
