5.9Ghz is one of the better clocks achieved with a 3770K under dice so it is a pretty good chip. I think that's gunna be your best bet to get some 3D mark scores with the 5970 in every test except vantage and 3D mark 11. You don't by any chance have a popular old card like the 8800GT lying around anywhere do you?? Using one of your chips and a GPU like that will gain you some serious THPP and UHP :)

Has been searching for a decent 8800gt,but they are rare now.There plenty of them,but no one good for top benching.
Hope to do ln2 within this year,but i dont have place for a dewar.Hope to join Rasmus maybe,when he does some ln2 stuff.

Just seen your 7970 submission, awesome stuff man, i noticed you used dual channel ram instead of quad channel. What's the difference in terms of scores or have you not looked into it?? I wish i could do some LN2 benching myself, there is plenty of room at my house for a dewar but i don't see my parents allowing me to keep one here :P Maybe next year when i go to manchester or liverpool university (fingers crossed) I could do some benching with the rest of the guys from that area. I know they get together occasionally to do some LN2 benching as Team GB. There is one this time next month but i would have no way of getting down there so i can't go to that one, will have to wait until next march or something like that for the next one then i will be sure to go :)

I plan on getting a phase change cooler tomorrow but if that falls through then i am going to get in contact with rasmus and get myself a pot from him :) That means i should be benching a lot of chips below zero before christmas.

Got a delivery of 11 celeron and P4 chips today in the mail, they only cost me a £1 each so that will be some very cheap TPP :P
 
No to very little difference using dual or quad channel.Only benchmark/stresstest i have noticed a difference is in linpack linx.:huh:
Hope youll get that phase change cooler.If that goes wrong,the rasmus pot will do ln2 to.:)
Some nice prices you find there.Maybe i should trust ebay more.
And yeah,some nice improvements on the hd7970 scores.:cool:

Just seen the latest submissions, very good work, it won't take too long for us to get back up to 10,000 points at this rate :) I hope we can get hold of more benchers with a variety of hardware so we can get a vast amount of TPP.

I hope i get the cooler too, got paid a lot more than i was expecting today so i have a bigger budget to spend on it than i originally thought. I will try and get hold of a P4C800-E deluxe tomorrow too, since i have 10+ socket 478 chips to test. All in all i have a lot of work to do when i'm able to go sub zero, i think i have a total of around 30 CPU's that need to be benched, each should give me at least 30TPP at the very least so that add's up to around 900TPP when i'm done with them all, should be a productive few months for me :)
 
Quick little update, got myself a P4C800-E today along with a CT-479 adapter that will allow me to use the old socket 479 laptop chips i've got lying around in a draw to work on the board :) That should be fun to overclock :)
 
Just a quick question guys, has anyone ever had any problems in getting PiFast to run on a dual core AMD CPU. I want to finish benching the B22 chip but for some reason i can't get PiFast to even start calculating a score. I will post a pic tonight when i come back from work but i really can't see why it won't do it. Not a stability thing since i'm running stock right now :P
 
Really sorry guys but i have just changed my points over to the Aria PC team. It's nothing personal at all, it's just that it makes a lot more sense for me to be there at this current moment in time. I hope you guys don't think bad of me for doing this. I will still be around the forums of course, no stranger :)

I'm looking to possibly buy an MSI Big Bang XpowerII for my 17-3960 as a Xmas pressy to myself, overtime allowing :D
The R4E VRM's get really hot, ended up watercooling the mobo as well :huh:

Never had such problems with my R4E or M5G,but then again i always have a fan pointing directly at the vrm`s.
 
Hi guys and galls.Theres a competition at HWBot called "SF3D OC Tweaking Competition",it should appeal to some of you,its limited to 5ghz cpu speed and a single gpu.The competition is in two stages,superpi-32m and 3dmark05.I`m currently at 2nd place,now its time to best it.
 
Gigabyte z77-up7 ordered.Now i can bench both my sapphire hd5970 4gb in x-fire on 1155.Have postponed dice session to 10-11 december to first get familiar with the mobo.Already in top 5-10 in the older 3dmarks 03-05-06,i myself is confident i take some top scores with them.
 
G.skill tridentX 2666mhz 10-12-12-31 ordered.Hope to get them before 10.december.The imc on my 3770k is capable running 2800mhz on my kingston 2400mhz and booted into bios at 2933mhz,so hopefully i can get it to windows and do some benches.
