This is one of the most in depth damage engines you will ever see, the cars are made component by component, you can change almost any part of the car, and best part about it- full real time dynamic soft body physics! its been given go-ahead for steam greenlight from what i can observe, however is not available on steam so currently you can only purchase through their website
They also have a free tech demo to try the game and decide if its worth it for full content.

It is a rather intensive game to run since the softbody physics is constantly simulated 100% of the time, so this may not work on budget rigs so well.

Its not that intensive on the scale of things. Its pretty cool however its not as well modeled as next car game's handling/body damage.
 
Looks quite cool, Id loose days just driving around if the map was good enough!
Theres a modding community making maps and such, and theres a few decent sized maps in the game when you purchase it

If your driving just the one car its fine, but at the moment most people will struggle to have more than 3 cars on the map at a time.

Hrm maybe. I'm waiting for multiplayer if/when it comes ;)
i'd like to see how they would impliment that, they could make it so other players vehicles dont render the softbody as much, or even every so often the client of each player sends data to the server about the cars current status and its all calculated locally on their rig, that would probably be very laggy though, internet wise.
