So.. Tried the single player, toptip: Don't lower your graphics settings yet... That first bit of intro is a KILLER. The FPS seems to triple once you meet the two dudes. This almost feels like a tech demo...

First few thoughts, in the bit where you're in the streets and it's wet.. GTA V on xbox (when it rains), looks better... This reminds me very much of CoD.. not impressed really. The ship internals look, stunning however. The "press and hold Q" thing doesn't work for me at all, nothing happens, guessing it's a bug/driver issue.

Multiplayer, feels like a proper battlefield game again, I am very happy so far. So much stuff to choose from!! Just looks and feels great, so much more dynamic.

Jets are way-easy-mode to fly now, However the god damned crosshair is no where near the impact point for bullets. Turn-rate is stupid (not unexpected). Haven't flown an attack chopper yet, but if it's anything like the beta that will be fine, also easy-mode.

Scout chopper is much more nimble now which is great.

In-vehicle, vehicle taking hit sounds are FAR too quiet, you can be being shot at, losing health and not know it at all until you go pop (could be a bug but wtf!?)

Quite laggy, but not unexpected, and haven't found what I would call a high-quality server to try it on yet.

On the whole? I'm very happy, looking forward to Rank 10 and being a commander again.

As a squad leader I'm happy to ask for, and subsequently obey Commander's orders and I'm SO pleased that's back Really gives a sense of someone pushing everything in the right direction.

All in all, my initial views are good. Looking forward to trying this on 780's instead of 580's

Edit: Yes, I VPN'd, no I don't care, I did it for 3 and am glad I did it for 4 to get some of the SP out the way while server-side stuff gets smoothed out. The whole "You'll be banned" is retarded and at best, a scare tactic to try and level off server-load. Nothing came of it last time, I highly doubt it will next time. I am however, not responsible for your game if you DO VPN and DO get banned/hacked. You do it under your own volition.

Based on what you've played and seen so far, would you say that for a complete BF n00b, its worth the ~£65 investment, ive not played BF series and im unsure whether id enjoy it, i wont be spending hours and hours on it as reality seems to get in the way!

Just grab the base game for ~£30 you only need to spend the extra £30 on the Premium service if you want all the expansion packs coming out over the next two years. You can always buy it at a later date if you like the game and decide you want the extra maps.

Glad I used a VPN as well, the SP was actually pretty good.

The MP for me is to laggy and I was having crashes so i'm waiting for a patch before I jump into the MP again.

Get the base game first, don't worry about premium yet.

It just feels on the whole, like a better battlefield game all round again. BF3 felt like a bit of a dirty betrayal.. This feels so much more like it's back on track.

Only team based FPS ive played was CoD on the Xbox, quite enjoyed that with my old console gaming crew. i think ill be ok, ill get the base game

So playing yesterday I had great fun. got up to 7th in the UK. But came to i today. all I do is spawn and die. They need to reduce the black fade time. ATM you spawn and then bam you insta die.

Also need more domination Europe servers. but hay they will come tomorrow.

No no noooo, anyone can play google VPN.

We bought it from these CDKey places for one reason only, cheap cheap

I used gaming dragons and got BF4 key and a premium key for £65 total. Within the hour I had it fully installed

VPN guide for anyone that needs it, do at your own risk.

1. download FlyVPN http://www.flyvpn.com/
2. log into the free trail account, login details found here http://www.flyvpn.com/freetrial.
3. Before you do anything else make sure Origin is closed on your PC.
4. Run FlyVPN, select a USA VPN from the list, if it's full just keep trying.
6. Once you are connected, open Origin and you will now be able to preload and or play BF4. Make sure you start the game through Origin the first time you launch it and not through Battlelog.

As soon as Origin is running you can close the VPN server. If you turn off your PC or close Origin you will need to run the VPN again for it to work again.

EDIT: Activate your key in Origin before using the VPN btw.

Don't worry guys, you aren't missing anything other than constant crashes and a massive stuttering lagfest.
The game needs patching, it's in a bad state at the moment. I can't even play a match with out the game crashing.

As for the Origin speeds, I must be lucky, some how I always get download speeds of +1MBs over my maximum download speed. Don't know how that happens but it does :lol:
