Bad BF3 performance

Hi,

I used to play BF3 on high with my spec thats below in sig with no lag or fps dips that i noticed but now i have to play on medium and it still only get 30 fps on same map and even on low i get only 35fps whats going on i had a lot better performance before on some maps this dips to 20 when i was in 40s on high before.

Was this on a 64 player map? Sometimes when the servers are busy the network speed decreases and that affects fps for all the players regardless of the power of your gpu.

what video card do you use?

what video enhancements settings are you using in CCC or NVC?

How much memory/video memory is being used while gaming?

What Driver are you using?

is your sound card "Creative"?

what AA feature do you have enabled in game?

its really strange cause my laptop with a gt650m OC and I7-3610QM at 1600x900 on high gets 36 FPS, whilst my desktop at 1600x900 and HD5870 slightly OC and 1090T gets 32-34fps how the hell is a laptop out performing my pc?

i havnt changed any other settings all defult and using high preset in BF3

Nvidia is 296.16 driver and my desktop is 12.2, and yes my desktop has a asus crosshair formula IV which has a creative chip.

ive been having them for about a month installed no updates

just ran just cause 2 benchmark on same settings desktop scored 54.12FPS and laptop got 54.44fps how the hell is a laptop outperforming a desktop card?

So this is on your 5870 then?

Have you run gpuz in the background whilst gaming? or even afterburner, maybe the card is not going up to full 3d clocks and is stuck at a lower speed due to the powersaving?

no it goes up to 900Mhz and 1300Mhz , something cant be right here can it how can a laptop out perform a desktop at same resolution and settings?

It shouldn't,when I had a 5870 it was much higher than what you are getting(and was higher than what you were getting before(@1680x1050),I used to run a mix of high/ultra and get 45-90fps(90 was indoors)

could it be my cpu?

it seems to get worse by time at this rate ill have 10fps.

im changing my 5870 for a 7950 will see if it sorts my problem if it doesn't must be a software issue somewhere

i ram 3dmark 11 on desktop and laptop here are the results

for desktop p4150

for laptop p2730

is the score for the desktop ok?
