BackDraft Evo (a Nanoxia DS1 Build)

You called, so here I am!

Cable tidiness? Did you make that just for me? How nice of you.

Couldn't let the side down any could I? ;)

EDIT: Forgot to say: Really loving how this is turning out!

Thank you mate, very much appreciated :)

looking good mate keep up the good work

Nearly there :D

Nice SSD mounting! Also like the sleeving, just wish it was the same colour blue as the motherboard heatsinks and fans. :)

Cheers fella :)

Oh and hold that thought until you see the completed pics ;)

Don't know if you already explained this, but what have you used to tie up the cables?

It doesn't look like zip tie...

dayuuummmmm :)

as posted above dayuuumm , that looks nice
:rock::rock::rock:

Thank you both, very much appreciated :D

wow that look well sweet nearly looks like you know what you doing there mate :)

Yeah I took time out for one reason or another from PC modding, a good friend of mine in The States that has his own PC modding business persuaded me not to quit (refused to more like lol); my last modded build LINK was completed in late 2011, BackDraft is my first build proper since ;)

Hey Carrock, I simply used stainless steel wire spaced at 50mm intervals mate ;)

;)
Nom, dem details. Pure sex to my eyes :D

Even the screws on the empty PCI brackets are custom ;)

Cheers Fella, very much appreciated ;)

Ok with it being Sunday and me being bored...

I decided to have a little fun :D

Enter the new ROG RealBench V1.1 Benchmarking Suite, crank up the overclock to 5.1GHz and voilà.

8drpduq.jpg

I wanted to put the cooling loop efficiency to the test once again and to put it into perspective; were it a child it would have just stood there with a huge grin on it's face as if to say is that all you've got lol

Very very pleased

To put the above score into perspective, a guy running an i7 3930K @ 5.0GHz on an Asus Rampage IV Extreme with 16GB Corsair Vengance 1600mhz only scored 743 overall.

My own score is only 12 points behind ;)

WOW! Great work there mate!!!

Thank you kindly OO :D

Ok time to see what I can get from the GPU :)

The stock NVidia GTX 680 had a Core Clock of 1006MHz and a Memory Clock of 1502 MHz.

My own EVGA GTX 680 SC Signature (factory overclocked) has a Core Clock of 1085MHz and a Memory Clock of 1552Mhz.

Hmmmmm time to have a play

wf6kDF9.jpg

This translates to -

Core Clock further increased from 1085MHz to 1145MHz Boosting to 1210 MHz

Memory Clock increased from 1552MHz to 1652MHz (6208HMz to 6608MHz effective)

Not bad for 30 minutes messing about :D

Pretty decent OC There mate. How much of a performance boost do you get from that OC?

Those settings are MAXXED out, I'm still messing about with them to try to prevent the thermal throttling.

But to put this into perspective just running my 680 SC Signature at a day to day 1115 MHz (+30) boosting to 1180MHz and with the memory at 1602MHz (+100) 6408MHz.

Gbk9tyX.jpg

This leaves an overclocked ASUS GTX 770 DirectCU II boosting to 1293MHz (+135MHz on the GPU and with the memory at +550MHz) trailing in it's wake in Unigine Heaven 4.0 (DirectX 11 1920 x 1080 High 0xAA settings) by a clear 49 points (averaged over 5 passes).

wkrCrSf.jpg

Personally I would say that's a fair performance boost :D

Ok so the day to day overclock I run BackDraft at is 4.5GHz @ 1.39V, the memory I run at 9 11 10 27 1T @ 2133MHz 1.665V (no it hasn't yet blown up lol).

Now for the purpose of stress testing an overclock, I use OCCT 4.4.0 and Prime95.

Below is the results of an hour long stress test using OCCT 4.4.0, the test was conducted at an ambient room temperature of 23°C.

TIYCJFw.jpg

As you can see the hottest core never exceeded 66°C, I think this clearly demonstrates the efficiency of the loop :D

BackDraft Evo complete :D

Enjoy the pics...

Dammit, I go to the hospital for a few days and the world just keeps on turning without
me?! The sheer audacity!

Ahem, anyway: It's turned out really awesome, if we had "likes"/rep in this forum you'd
definitely be getting some from me. :)

BackDraft, the final evolution...

Hey Guys, it's been a long road but BackDraft has now finally evolved into it's finished form :D (yes I'm now finally happy with it)

From this -

To this -

L6CtmLFl.jpg

As you may notice I've made a few changes...

I've removed the rear extract Alpenföhn 140mm Wing Boost Plus PWM Fan and replaced it with an MNPCTech "Brain Drain" 120mm Billet Fan Grill (CNC milled from 3/16" thick aluminum with a machined brush aluminium finish), the quality of the MNPCTech products are simply flawless

The cooling is now straight forward in through the front out of the top.

gy44wuXl.jpg

The grill ties in perfectly with the GPU backplate ;)

Q9vFNL0l.jpg

I've rerouted the PCIe extensions for the GPU (I was never truly happy with them before).

Nanoxia have also now finally released the Windowed side panel for the DS1

BackDraft Evo is now complete proper.

Thank you for looking :)

This is beauuuuuuuuuuuuutiful :)

Only thing that I don't really like are the white zip tied (?) on the GPU cables. Black ones would be better imo.
