BackDraft Evo (a Nanoxia DS1 Build)

awesome just awesome everything works just so well together it's insane.

   :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

And i really love the geryish tone in The Akasa Piranha's it goes so well with the color of the covers.

Looking well good mate ;)

Thank you both :D

I feel it's starting to come together now, finally.

looking good mate any way you can get SS on the side of the rad?

Cheers fella :D

The short answer to your question is yes I could clad it with a stainless steel plate easily but...

The bracket holding the rad is plastic and currently supports 2.6Kgs (5.72lbs) and that's excluding the weight of the grill and fans; add some coolant into that rad, clad it and you see where I'm coming from.

Aside from the additional weight it would add I don't want to go overkill on the stainless.

Epic indeed! Loving the stainless add-ons! Noob question about the shroud though: aren't they only effective if placed between the fans and the rad? Based on what I read about shrouds during research for my 1st build, that seems to be the case. Or are you just using it as a spacer to make your tube runs work?

I see , plastic, hate to have something break at this stage of the build

Indeed it would shall we say be just a MINOR annoyance...

I don't think Nanoxia Engineers factored lunatics like me into their design brief for the case

Wow!!! Truly epic work mate!

Thank you both, much appreciated :)

A second push pair of Piranhas will sit in the door cages as shown below :D

The shroud has also enabled me to create the tubing runs I wanted yes ;)

Ahhh, I didn't see the spot for a second set of fans. With your obvious build skills, I should have known you know how to use a shroud! ;)

I started using shrouds many many moons ago (so it now seems  )

I used some of the early Phobya acrylic 20mm shrouds on a CM 690 II build ;)

That just might be the most efficiently used case bottom I've yet seen. Of course it
helps that the SR-1's are just beautiful radiators. :)

Well spotted that man :D

Agreed the SR1's are phenomenal rads

It was just a touch on the millimetre perfect side to squeeze that lot in I will confess

On the subject of efficiency here is another of my creations...

The claim to fame so to speak with this build was that it became the first ever non ROG build (it utilized a P67 Sabertooth) to feature on the ASUS Republic of Gamers Website :D

Today saw the front and lid of the case reinstalled, not such a biggy you might say but it did see me having to remove the XSPC X2O 750 V4 to get the front panel back in place; a further extension bar was needed to bring the pump inlet back into alignment and I had to replace the existing pump run off with a piece of tubing 10mm longer.

To kick off proceedings -

I think they match the colour of the heatsinks on the motherboard pretty well :D

And this is where BackDraft ceases to be just a chassis...

True that. And I just love the tapered edges. Gives them a much more interesting
look than just a rectangular box IMHO.

Had a look at that; very nice work indeed!

With reference to the SR1's you have my full agreement, sexy looking rads

Thank you Re: The Phantom build, were it not for a mate of mine Bill Owen dragging me out of modding retirement it could likely have been my last build.

I like it well done!

Thank you Reloaded :)

I'm not finished by a long score yet ;)

Mini update...

I've added a second plate to the reverse side of the drive bay cage to totally stealth it out and to facilitate a cleaner look/aid cable routing.

*sigh*

What can be said that hasn't already been said (apart from anything bad, which isn't possible). REALLY looking forward to seeing the hardware in this build for leak testing!

Thank you first and foremost :)

Still a way off on the hardware going in fella, by that I mean I've got a whole load of things yet to do to the case and I've vowed to myself not to put a single piece of hardware in until it's complete and I'm happy with it.

I'm waiting on some materials to arrive so I'm in a bit of a lull right now.
