b450 with a 1700x, will I have ram issues?

So I was able to snag a 1700x for an extreme discount compared to a 2600 and a 2600x. I was planning to pair it with the b450 asus strix motherboard I have but I began to hear about memory timing issues with the old 1000 series of Ryzen. Can anyone help inform me a bit more on this? Will there be any issues with my G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200 kit?

Depends. Look up the serial number of the ram. If it's B die then easy, if not you may need to back off at around 3000 MHz.

You want the CAS 14 rgb trident z 3200 as it's compatible with the 1700X or just do what I did and get the FlareX non rgb as it can be hard to get the rgb stuff at least here in Aus it is :)
Also be advised the rgb ram can impact your cooler depending on what type it is I couldn't use it with the X62 as it impacted on the hoses from the pump so choose careful

The issue is I already have the 16 CAS as it was what I bought during a sell on Newegg. : /

As long as it's on the QVL list from the motherboard maker, in this case Asus, then you'll be fine.

Which i am pretty sure all the trident models are on the QVL list. So you'll be fine. Best bet is to make sure BIOS is updated to the newest one before you start messing with settings.
