I wonder if the STX has been tweaked over time; the one i got recently is totally silent when no sound is playing and Asio response is the best i've ever had, if the STX II is better it must require high end equipment to notice the improvement.

Plug in a guitar and you will hear the latency. Even a couple of milliseconds is enough to put me off.

I don't use the official drivers. There is a 3rd party custom created software which eliminates a few bugs and helps latency but its stil there. Even ASIO4ALL doesn't not make any improvement.

I would love to hear from someone with the STX II however if it suffers the same fate

Try the unified xonar drivers. Worst case scenario is you uninstall and roll back. But I found them slightly better.

Thats a shame, worked right out of the box for me, so to speak. And it did improve latency but end of the day, the delay was still there ergo no Guitar Rig for me

I need to replace my mobo (RIP sabertooth) so ill revert back to the onboard audio for the guitar when I do. Until then everything else will go through STX.
