Hey peeps

Been looking around but can't seem to find any info on a 7770hd 2gb crossfire set up ?

Would it be any good?

Any one got any information about them...

Thanks

Dladdin

You are going to be out of luck using Crossfire on that motherboard....

Asus spec sheet states:
1 x PCIe x16
2 x PCIe x1
1 x PCI

pcpartpicker confirms this as well.....

To get CF 7770 performance you want to be looking at a HD 7950 or even the little less 7870 Tahiti core cards or the R9 270x

The 270x and 7870 Tahiti card should be around the £140-160 mark, and the 7950 from 180 upwards. (actually the 7950's are tricky to get hold of now, and the ones you can are 210-220 range)

new motherboard

I am gettin a new motherboard soon!

Just want to see what performance it would chuck out if I did Crossfire them.

Thanks

The cards that Mathius suggested would be good and you can save yourself some money by selling your old card.

Edit;
Even then I'd still recommend a single card configuration over CrossfireX. Saves a lot of power, heat and driver headaches.

Image of the board confirms that it lacks the physical second 16x slot:

but yea just by looking you can see only the one x16 lane...

when going for the new graphics card, aim at the 7950 for the 3GB vram, I'll say that even though I love my graphics card for its power for the games I play (intend to play) if noise is an issue avoid the HIS IceQ 7950 Boost, this is my RMA'd one and although the noise is quieter than before, its noticeable when the fan goes 50%+

Errm no 2 low end cards in crossfire will be a fist full of problems micro stuttering not working on a lot of games so you have to resort to useing ONE card anyway with some game's extra heat and acoustics and power draw never ending waiting for CF drivers for the latest games.
Its just not worth the hassle crossfireing low end cards go and grab a HD7870 before the miners grab them all there all going fast.
This one is £130 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-11...e=UTF8&qid=1388795294&sr=1-1&keywords=hd+7870
If you realy whant a CF set up later in the day 2 7870's are a power house...

The non Tahiti 7870s aren't really that good as their tahiti broskis. That price is quite good itself but if I was the OP I'd save for a 270x/270. Heck you might pick up a 670 for that money if you look around...

The 270x is practically HD 7870 with a sticker on it for a extra £40....
