Anyone here remember TMD fans?

I was over at a mates place today looking through a box of old compy bits for a project that I'm working on, and I found some TMD fans. I was wondering if anyone remembers these fans, and the 'interesting' sound they made. I grabbed the three fans he had anyway (70mm lol); once I get them cleaned up I'll post some pics.

Ooh yeah, no motor - just magnetics. I wonder why that didn't make it mainstream? Maybe too expensive to produce?

Those YS ones were awesome . I think they're using bigger versions for industry, but they're too expensive to produce small ones for pcs.

The magnets wouldn't interfere with your hard drives if mounted to closely? I've never seen any of these in person that I can think of but it would seem that electrically powered magnets could cause some serious problems if too close to ur drives.

its basicly an external motor instead of internal, the magnetics works as the do in an internal motor.
