Any advice for my build?

So Im finally buying parts for my PC and I was just going to see if there is anything anyone suggest for improving my rig. It is going to be a general gaming/streaming rig. I do a little video editing here and there but nothing substantial. I was thinking of maybe getting a cheaper power supply but I don't know about that. Maybe the Corsair RM850?

Also I already bought the case. I got the Phantom 820 since the white one is going for 70$ now since NZXT is going through an identity crisis phase.

I would go with H115i Cooler, and drop the PSU to 650W, max 750W. Even if you overclock everything balls to the wall 650W will be more than enough.

Edit: Aso you don't need AXi series. They make sense when you have big power requirements. RMi or RMx would be perfect for your build.

Edit 2: Also take money from power supply, add 100 more on top, and take 1080 Ti.

If you are comfortable with OCing then get the 2700 and OC it, also get a B450 board and get an RM 750 like Avet said, but if you are going to get a 1080p monitor it's a waste getting the 1080 Ti, SO see if you can get a 2560x1440p monitor with the 1080Ti with the money saved on the other components!
Maybe add a little bit more if you're short but seriously you won't regret it.

I didn't pay attention on monitor. I agree with Excalibur. 2700, B450, RM 750, add a little bit and get 1440P monitor, and 1080 Ti. It will make a ton of difference.

My one issue with getting the b450 version of the board I have is that it cuts me down two usb 3.0s. I know that seems like such a bitchy gripe but thanks to how many USB3.0 slots body tracking VR takes it is a bittttt of an issue. Is there are suitable b450 board that could accomplish my needs in that regard?

EDIT: I also kind of want to wait on getting anything above the 1080 just because...well to be frank I was highly disappointed with the RTX release line and I want to give the green team as little money as possible before they release something right proper.

EDIT 2: Oh on the topic of monitors are there any 1440 monitors you all would suggest?

Well now I just feel like a nit now. Though I was having a discussion with people, should I just drop down to a Ryzen 5 for now and see where things go with Zen 2? It is coming out within a few months and I would feel a bit miffed if I bought the best of the best now and for Zen 2 to come with DDR5 and so on.

I wish I had waited when I went ryzen last xmas even though I knew 3 months wait would net me newer at similar cost. I was rocking an A10 APU so knew I would get a massive performance gain and I was impatient.
If the gains for zen2 are more than ecpected than it might be worth waiting especially if they are not in need of a new chipset like zen+ was.
Zen2 is due March I think so thats a 5 month wait. then there are sales to be had.
If I was in your shoes and already had a system then I would wait for zen2 but would keep a close on component prices and when you something at a very good bargain snap it up. By the time zen2 is released you should have pretty much the rest of the components and have saved a lot of $ in the process

Do you need a new rig? Buy what you need now, and enjoy it. When Zen2 comes, and if it is a worth upgrade, you will do it easy. You will sell you 2700X for more, and that is it. Don't suffer now so you might, if, when, sometime in the future, maybe, possibly have a good PC.

But for streaming, it probably will, at least with CPU intensive games. But then again, if you want to stream, buying an RTX 2070 instead of a 1080 if you can source one at a reasonable price would allow you to stream at a similar quality to CPU encoding, without a meaningful load on the CPU.

Im actually trying to get a Zotac AMP Extreme 1080 ti for around the price of a MSI 1080. I reallyyyyy don't want to support the RTX series just to kinda try and put my foot down about where prices are currently for cards. So that is why Im not getting any of the 2000 series cards.

That is ok price. If it does everything you need it to. I don't see why not.

Im also thinking about whom I plan to sell my old MB and the chip too. I plan to give it to one of my friends who currently does not have the means to build a gaming rig but most likely will by the time of Zen 2. I fully plan to upgrade to Zen 2 and am pretty sure they only have plans to play things like WoW, Day Z, Ark, and the like...so I just dont see it being worth their money as well to get a 2700x. Im hoping that makes it a bit more understandable for the choice. My only big issue now is do I go for the current 189$ deal I found or see if prices get slashed for Cyber Monday/Black Friday.

EDIT: This is also why I switched to the b450 Strix motherboard too. I know they won't really need the X470 chipset like I would so all and all it kind of helps two parties out by doing this.

I mean buying any Nvidia card supports RTX series. But if you can get a good deal on a 1080 Ti, go for it.

WoW really likes good single core performance btw, but if you're CPU streaming, Intel CPUs are cost prohibitive as you want 8700k or 9700k for that.

dont waste your cash on the X chips unless you are gonna install and forget about it, the 2600 and 2700s will clock up pretty well and are a lot cheaper than their X parts.
