Anime Thread

Just finished my 5th episode of Gantz. You weren't kidding, that show is messed up haha

nope i did warn people, there is a few scenes in Elfin Lied that make the most hard core anime fans ill or just stop watching the show, even I had to skip one part....

I really enjoyed Elfin Lied. It too has some cringe worthy parts. But, that's one of the best things about it. They didn't scale it down for a broad audience. It was released as the creator intended, no sugarcoating what-so-ever.

however.... it's very different to the manga, to the point where there can not a 2nd season and only a total re-boot must be done and i don't see anyone taking on :(

That's a fair assessment, and I can't say that I knew that. It's a shame that It doesn't hold true.

No kidding. Speaking of unforgiving, I watched Clannad, I was depressed for about a month afterward. It's not brutal or gore filled. It does pack an emotional punch though.

No I don't think I've seen that one yet. And I don't blame you, the story is pretty slow going for awhile.

yeah every one was saying it's the last 4/5 eps that get you, but tbh no show should take that long to get in to, "Rumbling Hearts" get's you in the 1st ep.....

I tried to watch angel beats too but it didnt really catch me from the beginning, saw a few eps and stopped ^^. Saw clannad too, made me cry on the end :'( But i'll give elfenlied a shot, seems like a cool concept though. Any one else here who was following No game No life?

Are there any good long-running Anime (or at least semi long-running? - example: FMA, or FMA Brotherhood)
I just watched Gantz, but because the Anime is only like 26 episodes long, I had to read the entire Manga too, to get my fix...

Bleach naruto are two ive watched a fair whack off, but if they are too long running you get some plot fillers which can be really really annoying (don kanoji)

but i know your pain i like SAO (sword art online) and that was 30 odd eps.

Do you have any genre you like?
Ghost in the shell is 1st and 2nd gig are cool.
Deathnote i enjoyed.

But glad to see a FMA fan!!!!
my pc was nearly gonna be based on the elric bros lol :)

Big FMA fan. Watched all episodes of the original Anime and Brootherhood on 2 weekends.
Don't really know what kind of stuff I like. I guess most importantly deep characters, second most scifi / tech and last a lot of killing / dying. (I've got into Anime/Manga only recently, because all the live-action TV shows are on hiatus due to summer.)

Well angel beats is a wierd anime. It's a random funny comedy at the begining.
And the suddenly the understand everyting, and it becomes a super sad anime.

You should give it a shot again.

And if you like animes that really hits you, you should try Madoak magica and Toradora. Toradora reminds me a lot of clannad, but at the same time is something completly diffrent.

Ghost in the shell has all that lol.

SAO has the characters and sci fi

Bleach is just simply about death ... and boobs lol

Not to offend thee, but I watched the first episode of Ghost in the Shell and I was bored out of my skull (pun intended)

I'll give SAO a try tho, thanks
