Anime Thread

Akame Ga Kill is quite good.
I find it strange that the protagonists of most anime I've seen seem so retarded, but I guess that's because they're supposed to be around high-school age...

Edit:
Anyone got a good VPN for me?
Need one to connect via the US... Crunchyroll is severely restricted for German users, which really sucks.

Edit2:
Preferrably a VPN I can pay with PayPal... The last VPN Service I tried to buy was accepting PayPal but only via credit card and I didn't want to waste my bitcoins on a service that I don't even know if it was good.

On another note: You can pay your Crunchyroll subscription in Bitcoin. I was amazed by this and immediatly decided to do so! ;)

Edit3: Hola seems to be decent, I don't trust it because it seems to be free, tho.

Edit4: Volume 14 of SAO is finally translated completely. I gotta say tho: DAT CLIFFHANGER.

Started reading the Log Horizon light novels, and watched 2 other animes in the mean time: "Rail Wars!" it's plain stupid... Watch it, you'll understand why I say it's stupid. Also "Demon King Daimao"... I don't know how I stumbled upon that one, considering it's ecchi (or however that's written) but there's a lot of good humor in there, so it's also fun to watch.

Okay so I've seen people asking what websites are decent for watching anime.

As a disclaimer, as far as I know these are safe sites. I use the WOT extension on Firefox and Chrome to see a website's rating as well as Noscript to prevent background scripts from running in my browsers.

Recently, I've been using KissAnime (Free site) as I've been able to watch some of the more recent shows in 720p (this includes popular anime like Bleach) and It's a YouTube style video encoded site, so the videos buffer quickly.

I've also used Animefreak and Crunchyroll.

I hope this helps some of the fine folks out there!

===========EDIT==========

I'd like to add that there are a select number of shows offered in 1080p on Kiss Anime.

Code Geass is one of them.

I use AnimeWaffles and Crunchyroll.

I use Crunchyroll for most things I watch (considering it has a vast selection of 1080p Animes), but some things are just not licensed for Crunchyroll (High School DxD for example, because Crunchyroll does not allow for nudity). What I can't watch on Crunchyroll, I watch on AnimeWaffles and what I can't watch there, I watch using a search result from Google. I highly recommend buying a Crunchyroll subscription, it's only $8 or something per month, but you get a huge selection of Anime in high quality with subs (I don't know if they have dubbed anime also, but I don't like dubbed anyways), while getting the satisfaction of knowing the creators are compensated (even if only slightly). Crunchyroll is severely restricted to people outside of the USA or UK, however, so if you're not a brit or a murrican it would be a good idea to use a VPN to tunnel into either of these countries.

The site I use for reading Light Novels is baka-tsuki.org/project/index.php . They offer translations of Light Novel series which are not yet licensed for an official english translation. So if there are Series which haven't been officially translated to english already, or started being translated, or not going to be translated at all, it's possible that baka-tsuki hosts the community translations for that. They're usually very good and I can't complain. I've read their translated versions of Sword Art Online (Tap), High School DxD (Code-Zero), No Game No Life, Log Horizon and Demon King Daimao and they're all very well translated aside from very few and very minor mistakes (such as typos). If you're interested in reading stuff and have enough imagination that you can live without the audio/visual part of anime, you should definitely check out the light novels. They're usually a good and light read (great for reading when you're on a plane / train / bus / whatever).

Finished watching Nobunagun (didn't like it very much) and Asura Cryin' (liked it).
Now reading the Demon King Daimao light novels.

I've used "Hola!" and it seemed to work well for a while (but suddenly stopped working at one point for some reason), but I have since switched to a desktop VPN client: privateinternetaccess.com which works flawlessly.

how much do they charge you?

My daughter likes anime and made a picture for her friends birthday.

Nice drawing!

Finished reading the Demon King Daimao Light Novels...
Uhm... Yeah it gets increasingly strange until you conclude with the author of the books having a god complex and being insane. It was a terrific read and I can highly recommend it!

Edit: The name of the Light Novel series is slightly different from the name of the Anime so I'll leave it here for reference: Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou

Death Note
Hellsing
Hellsing Ultimate
Full Metal Alchemist
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Black Bullet
Gantz
Kill la Kill
Blue Exorcist
The Irregular at Magic High School
Sword Art Online
Log Horizon
No Game No Life
Tokyo ESP
Accel World
Angel Beats
Black Lagoon
High School DxD

Akame ga Kill
Rail Wars
Demon King Daimao
Nobunagun
Asura Cryin'

They're all worth watching. Nobunagun is a bit more meh than the rest, but other than that they're all good.

I'm liking Akame ga Kill. Just wish it were further in so i had more to watch. I've been rewatching Bleach!

They charge $7 per month @ Permafrost.

Currently watching Gurren Lagann. I heard it's been written by the same guy that wrote Kill la Kill so I have kind of high expectations.

Ichiban Ushiro no Daimaou gets crazy philosophical in the end... I had a very weird dream after finishing that one...

Edit:
Damn it! I'm the 299th post so I can't have the 300th post in this thread :/
