What camera do you use? your pictures always look awesome.
Thank you! For the pictures on here I usually use a Canon G12/G11.

Looks nice!
Thanks for the BIOS overview.![]()
Hi Andre,
I noticed in your bios review that you had EuP 2013 disabled , is there any advantage from this? When I was reading up on this most everyone was talking about it's effect on usb charging devices .
By the way , nice bios review.
I played a bit of Crysis 3 last night
I'm very much considering this exact MSI 7950 that you have, would you advise me to get it or not.
I've read a good 5-6 pages plus the last 2-3. I'm liking what I see.
I'd gotten out of game playing, marriage and got busy with other things, but watching the video has me itching to get into it again. I'm home all the time now. If I ever get a decent system again...the marriage part is over 3+ now, so that is not stopping me anymore.![]()
Thanks for the flix, Andre. I just got my GD65. Can't wait to do a fresh install!!!hi!
thanks for looking at the thread.
the msi 7950 is definitely a great and very capable card--i run every game at the highest detail settings and almost every game at 2560x1440 with no issues.
the only time the famerates can be a little low is with something really new like far cry 3 or crysis 3 at 2560x1440, plus highest details settings, plus AA on, but that is no surprising.
i love the card and i would recommend it highly. i am even thinking about getting a another one for crossfire. plus the never settle bundle is a great additional value, too.
here are some benchmark results that i have been able to achieve with my card.
(the card is not quiet when you push it this far, but it is just an example of what is possible) it is quiet at stock settings and with moderate voltages, though.

I imagine that system that Tom is putting together will be able to handle Crysis 3, not sure if it was mentioned on that thread which graphics card will be going into that system? but I know the 3570K is very good.

IMG_1600 by Andre Vautour, on FlickrThanks, Andre. I just got my GD65. Can't wait to do a fresh install!!!
I have been wanting to move the controller for the LED's out of the PCI slot mainly because that one LED that is closet to the controller is not spaced far enough to get completely to out outside edge of the case, so it is stuck in the middle and you can see it when you look in the window from the left side of the case.

i removed the pci plate

added a few layers of foam tape and a piece of credit card

then added another piece of foam tape to the credit card for sticking it to the case.

I stuck the controller up near the top of the optical bays with the buttons facing the inside of the case.
IMG_1586 by Andre Vautour, on Flickr
that way i was able to do a run around the edges of the case with no leds sticking out, and i made sure to use the small clips to tuck it as far into the edges as possible.
i have been working on the air pressure in the case.
i have the rear fan mesh area empty at the moment, with the nhd14 fans exhausting air passively.
IMG_1589 by Andre Vautour, on Flickr
i have the front two intake fans set at 80% speed and the two top exhuast fans at 50%. the nh-d14 fans are at 50%
replaced the silver thumb screws with black low profile screws, i may replace the one black thumb screw with a low profile screw too.

I have sold one of my subwoofers, and I am planning to move to a larger room shortly, but in the mean time i moved my current room around for better sound in the desk chair position. I kept one of the RW10-D subs, but I mainly use it for films and sometimes games. For music the RF-82's powered by the Classe DR-9 sounds very good, and you can turn on the sub during music for some additional punch.

the desk is now positioned sort of in the middle of the room with the speakers located in front. The imaging is much better like this vs having them right beside the desk, and the sound is much more clean with more full clean bass as well.

There is still some old damage on the door from when there was a dart board there. I am going to repair that when I move out of this room.
Here is your view when you are seated behind my desk.
IMG_1531 by Andre Vautour, on Flickr
here is a look behind the desk area. Originally I had the computer on the little shelf behind the desk with the front facing away from the door, I have since moved it around so it is facing the door.

It is a small room, but not as small as it looks in pictures. The speakers are 7 feet apart center to center, and the seating position behind the desk is 8 feet from the speakers if you are right up at the desk, and 10 feet or so if you move back. The room is 14 feet deep.

The new room is roughly 16 feet long and has full height ceilings. I will have pictures of that later.
