And it's about time I guess...

NoL has been trying to get me to join an OCing forum for quite sometime...seeing how the C2D's availability has driven me to near insanity, I guess now is the best time to join. I've never really OCed before, so you can consider me a n00b =P.

welcome, i too have never overclocked before, perhaps its because my machine is a bag of <enter something rubbish here>!

The main reason for me being so hesistant is not wanting to screw up and burn out my motherboard/cpu. I have extremely bad luck in general, so it could definitely happen. I'm not made out of money to replace burnt out parts unfortunately >_>.

i know the feeling, just follow what the guys say on here and overclock bit by bit. that way you should be fine. Usually you will see instability before you computer goes BANG :)

That's good to know. NoL has been trying to get me to overclock for ages...I'm considering it, but I need to get my E6600 first...after I get that, I have a Pentium D 805 that I bought to mess with.

I'll be sure to look out for it. I currently have an order with Microcenter. I paid more than I wanted to ($379.99 for OEM =/) but next day shipping was only like...$12, which isn't too bad at all. Only downside is that it'll take up to 3 days to process...anyone have any experience with Microcenter? Are they saying that to given themselves plenty of time...and it really ships out sooner...or will it really take 3 days?

I have all my new parts ready to be put together...but I lack a processor...it's so painful :E.

Heh Gamerdude is my neighbor at the house without the phase shop, so he hasn't actually seen any of my phase projects. I gotta get him over to my moms place for a lan though sometime soon.

That and an overclock on that e6600. :P

Thanks for the warm reception. This place seems like a good starting place for me.

Not just a good starting place... This is a great place to start, stay at it, and never leave, muahaha!
