Amputer

So, things hit a bit of a wall over the last week or so when this happened....

Yeah, broken pin extractor is always a shit. So, off we go to aquatuning for new tools and also a few other bits and pieces. We all like deliveries, no matter what they are :D Tools, pins, blue plugs and a new lighter since the last one ran out thanks to sleeving for a mate.

I still hate sleeving, no matter what I do with it. It's nice and relaxing but gets on my nerves after a while. Halfway through....

Does this look familiar to anyone? Stonking great pile of paracord innards.

And now I require opinions. The PSU is the old school generic and boring flat grey. Given that the colour scheme is mainly blue but with white interior and black exterior, what should the body of the PSU become? White, black or blue?

Finally have time to really push this forward so updates will be pretty reguklar the next few days, YAY!!! (wow, that was girly )

Thanks for reading!

Awesome!
I´ve been wanting to build a computer in an amp for about 4 years now xD But still need to keep looking for a good loking not too expensive one.

So, a few things in the pipeline here. First of all, after asking about colour options for the PSU it turns out the blue and black paint I though I had, I don't actually have so it'll be white but I may go for some detailing in the blue i have got.

So, here is the PSU being painted and not by me :D 'Honey! You're not doing anything are you?' Muhuwahaha. (don't be concerned by the unmasked kettle lead connection, she is phenomenal with a paint brush, I may showcase why later if I remember)

I also had a few bits arrive from ocuk today (mainly for other projects) but after uppacking (literally 1 minute later) the box was no longer mine.

Now after some consideration, and comments here earlier, I realised that the case is going to require somewhere for the hot air to get out and there's isn't much room to play with. The solution I've come up with is a vented side after finding rather useful mesh in my bits and pieces. So, a few pics of this process...

Covering cut and pulled back (I need to keep that as tidy as possible of course) and holes drilled for saw access.

Jigsaw? Oh hell no, this is hand crafted (read: ghetto) modding! Out with the coping saw

Some spare bits of covering glued in the corners to hide anything which might show from refitting the cover after the mesh goes in.

And a quick idea of how the mesh will be (after getting it totally flat and uncreased of course :) ) I might yet decide on painting this black to match the material mesh over the front intake fan. What do you think?

Thanks for reading guys, more tomorrow!

EDIT: Oh forgt to add, look what I found when looking through boxes of old parts! Awesome piece of nostalgia!

Not sure about that mesh tbh - think a rad grill with space for a couple of 120's would have been better...
