AMD's chips are slowly integrating HSA, A system architecture that takes full advantage of the CPU, GPU and System Memory's processing prowess.
Kaveri will be the first true HSA system and will include GDDR5 on the motherboard. It's essentially a desktop PS4.
Then you are missing the point,
They are slowly turning the PC industry around with this tech, ATM It's a test platform for software developers to program HSA software. It's essentially a guinea pig platform for the desktop. On portable devices it's the best buy you can make though, When Kaveri is released with on board GDDR5 we will potentially have $400 high end gaming builds. Just hoping it's not purposely gimped (BS contracts with $ony potentially)

No one knows what xbox will be using as the amd apu. This is an amd rumor thread, MS is using amd hardware; therefore relevant to the topic.

It remains to be seen how successful they'll be with HSA. nVidia for instance didn't exactly have a whole pile of success pushing CUDA.

Looks like we were wrong about the high TDP so. I could see them bundling this with a closed loop liquid cooling system, it seems they're recommending just that for these.
I wouldn't under any circumstances buy a FX-9000, I'd rather just overclock my 8350 to 5GHz (already managed 5.2GHz), but if they prove to be profitable for AMD what's the harm? It's not exactly costing them any more to produce since the die is the same anyway.
$800 is the word in the pipeline for the 5GHz one.

They could still probably call them FX-85XX, replacing the 8 with 4 and 6 as need be.
Definitely. Although it seems they're all guilty of making a complete mess with branding, Intel and nVidia aren't much better at times.

We were guessing the TDP would be a bit lower initially as the 220W figure is pretty high.
