ok let me explain the purpose of the machine. it is a memorial pc in memory my brother ChrisRay Arthington. I mainly use it as a multi-media machine as well as for soft gaming in Second Life and Final Fantasy XIV. but the mane purpose is of the machine is to stream multi-media to my PS3 via PS3 Media Server threw Category 6 550MHz Network Cables & router, and watch bluray 3d on it. the streaming muxes mkv to play on the ps3 so i am getting a 6 core processor for it.

the new processor will be the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition. i have a Cooler Master Hyper N520 that says its good for x4's but i cant find out if they work with the x6. so i am trying to figure out if i should use the stock cooler which is rated for the x6 or the N520. i may be getting a Corsair H50 in a shipment i am getting today as well, ill keep you informed. but my fav i seen is the Corsair H70.

Here are the PC Specs:

MSI NF980-G65

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition

(4x1GB) OCZ 16000 Ram

Dual nVIDIA GeForce GTX 295's

ty for the help in advance.

You should be fine. While the H50 is effective I absolutely despise how the block is fastened. Once you go Noctua you never go back!

well id like to get some ram cooling fans one day too and the nuctual is nice but afects the ram cooling

ALice

Thats because ram coolers are pointless and you dont need them. Thats why noctua made a cooler that reflects that.

its not overkill if u intend on hittin high clocks, tom whats the nh-d14 like on a high overclock on a 1090t?

and y dual 295, u do know they will suck epicly bad in games? get 2 460's only nvidia cards worth buyin

well thing im getting everywhere is everyone says investing in the Noctua NH-D14 be my best option. especially if i want to overclock like showen in this youtube how too. i ask in multiple forums to compare notes and find all recommend the Noctua NH-D14 as the best option for expandability im ordering my processer on the 3rd and maby even the Noctua

the 295 im geting in the male today dint cost me a dime evently i will go dual 480 but frr veres alot more money.

I think you're going to have massive GPU thermal problems.

The 295 is as hot as the 480 and those in SLI are not really viable unless you water cool them.

As such your ambient case temps are going to be stupid high and a lot of heat is going to be rising so I would suggest getting the biggest cooler you can get your hands on.

im lucky enough to have a shift case 3very thing rotated 90 degers so all the exast ourts go out the top the case for heats tendcy to rise

the bigest cooler ill have right away is my cooler master hyper n520

Have to toss in my 2cents worth on the Noctua, SUPER easy install, the HS is cold running my i7 950 at stock speeds right now, very very quiet, my only issue is the fins are bloody sharp is you happen to have your hand slip against them...

well free is good doesnt mean u need to stack 2 in there the 2 options that work are 2 cards in sli or a dual gpu card and then u can throw another single lower spec card in for physx but as alien said the temps ur gonna get are gonna be terrible and yeah heat rises but this will be constant heat so thats not really gonna help

i think nh-d14 cooler for ur 2090t and single 295 and then a gts250 > gtx460 for physx if u really need it but i presume not

Alice. For what it's worth (please see the introduction to my quadfire review) there is no way to cool those cards with fans. Please go and read my quadfire review located in the graphics card section of the forum. I would strongly imagine that if you don't choose to listen after that then it'll have to be on your head, but many people around here don't have an awful lot of patience for people who decide not to listen to good advice or ignore the writing on the wall.

That card you have runs so hot that it's better to use one and keep the other as a spare. They are notorious for packing up.

Sorry about your brother. May he rest in peace.

If you're not doing any over clocking that cooler will be more then sufficient. I'm not familiar with it, but it can't be worse then the stock one. Put it this way: Both the high end X4's and the X6's use the same stock cooler. So you don't have to get another cooler.

But if you can buy a new cooler I would highly recommend a Noctua cooler. As an example, the NH-U12P SE2. I got the Noctua NH-D14 and it's simply amazing.

That sounds nice, I like the cooling
