AMD has announced a new Semi-Custom Design win. Will they make the Nintendo NX's SoC?

Would be good to see Nvidia do something in this market as it would be quite interesting to see how well they could make console chips.

Would be interesting to see if Nintendo if it is them, insist on all games hitting 1080p 60fps something which the current consoles cannot do on every game.

I still think Nintendo should avoid making consoles to go up against with Playstation and Xbox and instead should just focus on software and hand held machines.

Don't think it'll be more powerful than PS4 tbh, probably closer to xb1 but maybe a better memory architecture instead of the DDR3 for everything like the xb1 design

In a press release Nintendo stated they are not aiming to compete with the 8th gen consoles in terms of raw power, Which was a tad disappointing to hear.

Not really. Nintendo know that the market for 'hardcore' consoles would be hard to enter. We don't need another console in that space.

Their position in the market is a monopoly for them. I mean, they'll have to move into competing with the 'hardcore' consoles once the nostalgia of mario/pokemon dries up. Not like it ever would.
