Advice on RX 480

What clocks does it run?

From what I have seen there is no black edition in the UK but we seem to have a card called an "RS".

Higher clock speed and the cards are better binned by XFX for silicon lottery. I'm hoping to clock my one at 1450+ and 2100+ for clock speed and memory speed respectively.

If you want to buy the black edition you can get it of NovaTech or AquaTuning for under £250

He can probably clock it there, but it probably won't maintain those clocks for gaming.

Always a possibility that it wont happen dont get me wrong but from what I heard especially from the black edition is that they can maintain those sorts of clocks on long endurances. Lets see how it goes. Ill unigne for a long time to stress it at that clock when I get it and see what temps are like, maybe make a custom fan curve.

I really can't stand that dude but wanted to see what the fuss was all about so I watched that video.

That's why the guys on OCUK consider it the best 480 out there. Maybe it was fluke, because XFX cards kinda suck but since the Fury series they have been trying to make decent coolers etc.

XFX and Sapphire are the best AMD brands? What you talking bout?:p
I've had less issues with both of them than MSI. And I had a Fury. Which is a hot *** GPU. Sapphire nailed that card.

All XFX need now is some sort of customer support :D

They used to have it back in the day but it was 70p a minute to call it from the UK. Thank god for selling regs now though and decent vendors like OCUK you really shouldn't need to talk to them.

It would be nice if they were more approachable though. That is part of the reason why I don't like XFX very much.

Sapphire seem to be stepping up now with Ed and so on. I remember back in the day (around 2009) I bought a Sapphire motherboard and went looking for help on their forums. About ten replies later in broken English they still didn't understand the question lol.

Yeah, maybe XFX should put some of that money that they are making from their RX 480 sales into some sort of customer recognition at least.

Your are right. If I never heard such great things about the XFX card then I would have gone with the Sapphire as that is a nice card but its still too loud for my liking. It strange I cant find many people comparing the XFX to the Nitro+ (temps, powerdraw, OC speeds etc.) otherwise that would have made this process easier.

EDIT: Whats customer service like with AquaTuning, I have never really used them before so I dont know what they are like in terms of service, returns, warranty etc.

Right, sorry for the delay I have been busy the last couple of weeks. The graphics card has arrived which is the RX 480 XFX Black Edition and I will test it over the next few days and give you guys a normal baseline, oc, temps, power draw and noise review

Ok I have a problem. I tried installing the GPU today and it's just 1.5 inchs too big for my case which is the cooler master storm scout. It's the HDD and the disk bay that is blocking it slightly. What's my best option to install it? Maybe cut down the HDD bays with a hacksaw but would that make it unstable. The max GPU length is 10.6 inches I believe

you will need to cut that case to fit unfortunately. or you could get a new case
Drill out the rivets for the bottom bays and cut the bottom 5.14 bay out

Do you have drives in the cage? it's quite simple to fix dude.

1. Drill rivets out remove cage.
2. Cut cage with a Dremel (reinforced bit) straight down each side to reduce height.
3. Refit cut down cage.

Or just go hard core and remove it completely.
