Advice on RX 480

you will need to cut that case to fit unfortunately. or you could get a new case

I don't have a problem with cutting the case especially because I'm not buying a new one but I'll need advice on where to cut. I'll get you pictures soon to give you guys a better idea

Just find all of the rivets that hold it in then drill them out. You don't need to cut anything dude, unless you have drives in there. Which you could relocate to the 5.25 bays for example.

I think the bottom 5 1/4 bay interferes as well as the top 3inch drive bay on the cage

I begun with the hacksaw at the HDD bay but I stopped to wait for some advice

The 980ti just about fits in the case for comparison

remove the rivets for the bottom cage and cut out the bottom bit of the top cage with a dremel to allow room for the card to fit.
if you need the bottom cage for drives, cut the top out of it and put it back in or you could just leave it out and sit drives on case floor

So cut the 5 and a quarter in bays rivets and cut the tip half of the hdd bay. Also I don't have a dremal

I would get a new case straight away. That metal filings/dust could kill your system very easily.

Seriously man never work on a rig like that with any hardware anywhere near it.

Sorry my typos I meant the bottom of the top bay and top of the bottom bay
but without a dremel your just gonna make a hash of it, it is nay on impossible to do with just a hacksaw.
As Alien has stated you also should not be doing it with components as the fillings will damage. Personally I would get another case

Alright I'll have to see

I'm gonna give the case a really good clean and swap it for the fractal r5 with my brother because he has a small gpu

No problems. I've sorted out a new case now. On with the testing we go

Very true. I'll keep that in mind next time! Thanks. It's not worth the hassle, I'll swap the case

Hey guys,

I'm currently overclocking the GPU and I haven't done it in a while. I wanted to know how far can with a power limit of +50 and a core voltage of +6%. Firestrike graphics score is 15 138. Should I decrease my power limit and core voltage?

Core clock did not fluctuate and temps stayed under 85 with an average of 70

EDIT: this is not a final overclock.

Depends.

With polaris, I setup a 10% power limit and OC'd from there only raising voltage. Once I found a point I couldn't go further I raised power limit. the limit is really hard on temps. You can increase volts say 50mv, but raising that limit even 3% will gain you a larger increase in wattage and therefore temps. Due to the fact Polaris will only pull the voltage it needs. The added voltage is kinda like a new threshold it can go up to is how i see it.

In the driver interface, the power efficiency toggle, I am not sure if it effects overclocks or not. Not sure what it should be at.. I have mine on though

My temps are only I'm the 65 - 70 so I think I'm okay. What's the best way to approach it because from my limited testing I think this card is capable of at least 1475 on core. What was your firestrike score on your gpu overlooked also?

My best OC was 1330 sorta stable, from a base of 1300, it's useless lol:p
Some games it was fine, others not. Strangely enough.. the less demanding games would crash while a game like Witcher 3 wouldn't. Heaven and Valley i tend to use the most, and Heaven wasn't fully stable but valley was fine. I didn't go to Firestrike since I figured if half of everything isn't stable.. it's probably not stable. So I stick to 1300.

My only query is that I get the occasional artifact at high clocks and low core voltage (+50%) power limit. That's why I wanted to know is it worth increasing the power limit more or core voltage
