Advice for SB + 570 build

Hey there,

I'll be commencing to buy and assemble my build in a couple of weeks’ time and would like to get some opinions on my build. Should I hold off this build until April and wait for the "all clear, go go go flood the stores" due to the SB problems? I've also never bought from EVGA before, is the quality on par with ASUS?

I also got an ASUS GT 240, should i trash it or use it as a Physx card? I thought the i7 2600 was powerful enough to do Physx vector calculations. There’s a lot of threads recommending mushkin ram but the stores I intend to buy from has none available (or is it because I'm in Australia?).

Will be running Microsoft Office, Cisco, Metro2033, Crysis 2, Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3.

i'd say get a gigabyte P67A-UD4 or 5 or 7 whatever you want to pay and eighter a 2500k or 2600k

Maybe get a GTX570 from MSI with their Twin Frozer cooler, it will let you get a lot better overclocks, while remaining cooler and quieter.

Power Supply, maybe considering getting a Super Flower Golden Green 1000W or a Corsair HX-850 or HX-1000. Btw, 1000w is a bit overkill.

For the motherboard, perhaps get a MSI P67A-GD55, but I would recommend that you wait until they fix the chipsets for Sandy Bridge motherboards since both the GD55 from MSI and UD5 from Gigabyte only have 2 SATA III ports, so you'll limit future upgrades. Since you have 3 devices that require SATA, I would recommend waiting, but if you really want it now, plug the DVD-ROM into the SATA II

CPU: Get a K processor for overclocking. I would prefer a 2500K over the 2600 honestly. Of course with overclocking you'll need a cooler. The Noctua D14 one of the best coolers out there, and it's cheaper than a lot of it's main competitors.

RAM: Mushkin is available in Australia.

As to where to buy them. I find for Australia http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php offers probably the best prices.

SSD: Get a G.Skill or Mushkin instead of OCZ, they are slightly faster for pretty much the same price.

I would say one gtx 580 instead of 2 570`s since alot of games dont support sli and you save money(my opinion)
