adjusting temperature set-point

Hi,

I am working in a lab doing test and validation of new ASIC designs. One test is to force a single chip to run really cold. I have had good results with the Mach II unit and a custom mounting system (apart from constant battles with ice formation, and some weird corrosive build-up on my PCBs!). I am controlling the unit from a PC which is separate from the cooled system.

Now I would like to able to control the cooler set-point to something other than -60C. I assume this would mean hacking the control software. Has anybody tried something like that? Any advice?

On a mach unit you will be unable to control the set point without some extensive modifications also it would never be an exact science, you would need a cpev or a tev although you would be able to control an amout of temperature it wouldn't be ideal..

If you tried to install a fridge controller onto a mach the temperature swing would be rather high and you would probably end up borking the mach...
