A lot of laptop for the moeny??

Just came across this

Figured that was pretty nice price, but then saw in for the same price on Amazon. Amazon also do exactly the same one but without the BR drive for about £45 less...

Has anyone else noticed quite a few good deals around regardless of the irrelevant 2.5% VAT cut?

Laptops have fallen in price hugely recently. Not so long ago I bought a refurb Sony lappy from ebay for about £400. Now there are brand new lappy's like that one which have much better specs for nearly the same price

I got a dell one for like £500.

Its alright...altho it really does lack graphic wise

My advise to myself for the next laptop, get something with some form of decent gpu. My onboard sucks (im not talking games here either)

I dunno, is it though?

I mean, other than the fact its in a nice small form of a laptop and made by sony (this has cons imo), the spec isnt really anything good, and the kind of level you'd find in a budget/low entry PC costing a fair bit less...

Of course, you get more for your money than you did last year, but thats the same across the board.

Even so, I still bought a similar spec Toshiba laptop with 120G HDD, dvd burner, intel gma etc, main difference being cpu having 1 core not 2, but then it cost £50 less( £314), nearly 2 years ago!

I got my first laptop, Fujitsu Siemens, a year ago for £500, my housemate got the exact same model last week for £200 less.

.........and he wont let me forget it!!!

I'd ask why's he buying obsolete hardware? Actually, I'd probably reply with an elaborate I forked your mum joke.

We now have two models of the first laptop linked in the house. They are pretty tasty pieces of kit for the money. I'm not holding out too much hope on their longevity, but for that kind of price, you can't really complain if it breaks in a few years.

It is amazing how much laptop you can get for sub-£500 nowadays. Truth be told it's amazing what £350 can net you.
