Hello i recently ordered 980 windforce however i accidentally ordered the incorrect one and got the one without the backplate :(. I was wondering if its worth sending it back to get the g1 gaming edition cause i heard they can sag or is it not really a big issue ?. Thanks in advance

There is a way to help it a bit by routing the pci-e power cables so that they keep the card up, but that is severely limited by where your cable grommets are.

Appreciate all the help. Does the backplate help with sagging at all or is it pretty much the same with standard pcb.

A backplate doesnt work as such, it helps with the looks yeah but sagging is down to the weight of the cooler and wether or not the card has a full length heatsink over the vrm's and memory, that helps a bit against sagging, which i tend to go for gpu's which have such heatsinks.

Thanks for the help do you guys think its a good idea to get the backplate?. I think it looks pretty cool but the main reason i was the sagging but if its good the way it is i will probably just keep it :D.

Here's a little something I knocked up 2 years ago to support my at the time 6790, dead simple and I'm still using it. ;)

Or, use one of these:

I've got dozens of them for when I place orders for HIS cards. Work great if you only have a single GPU.

Appreciate all the feedback. I think i will be purchasing a backplate from coldzero instead of sending back my current graphics card and getting the g1 backplate :D.
