right, so i bought myself an 8800gt and installed it

so first i uninstalled everything ati ran driver sweeper installed the nvidia drivers rebooted and when it gets to the windows logo it loses signal and i get no display no clue whats going on there

Try booting to safe mode to see if its drivers or not.

ive got it working apparently its my monitor, but when i try it with both my ati cards it works fine but as soon as i plug it into the 8800gt it kills the signal to that and my tv i unplug it and the signal pops back onto the tv, tried it with an old crt and the monitor kills that 2 then unplug it and the signal pops up onto the crt

strange how i get it workin with my 4350 and 4850 no bother

EDIT: ive put the tv and crt onto it at the same time and they both work together so i dont think its having problem running 2 screens at once

Just a quick question, why would you replace the faster 4850 with a 8800gt?

folding, its more than twice as fast as the 4850 at that

Fair dues, best bet to test it, just do a quick windows repair using your wondows disk, or use something like winternals to remove the old drivers pre boot

its the dvi cable it hates green team cards it wont work on the 9800gt either but the monitor has vga aswell so i used that cable just outta curiosity and it works no problem, but im still gonna just get another mnitor, spotted a pretty cheap 23" full hd monitor on scan

all old drivers are gone i uninstalled them all and ran driver sweeper then installed the newest nvidia ones but it still didnt work so a vga cable will do in the meantime till the new screen gets here

not ordered it yet gettin it tonight my budget is limited to £110 and its not got to last me all 2 long so i think im going to go with this

i tried all 4 slots on both cards and got the same result with both

no 2 much fuss to do that, the screen works with a VGA cable so it will do in the meantime till the new screen gets here

Seems like a waste to spend 110 on a screen you're not even gonna use very long...

If I were you I'd wait till I had more money so I could buy a quality screen.

ill only be using it to surf and watch movies so i dont need a top quality screen for my pc if i get the cash it will be going on a full hd 50" tv so that will get used for gaming

nah not really its gonna be on a wall all on its own so it might look a bit lonely, plus films will look epic on it

make sure your room is huge, if anything my 46" is too big for my front room.
