780 & ti

780 price drop, Gigabyte Windforce 780 was £479 the other day and now is £399 .

Is the 780 worth getting or shall i spend more for the 780ti?

Could the 290x be a better option once aftermarket coolers arrive

It goes without saying you should wait a little bit, the 780Ti is out on 7/11, the current prices will probably be cut even further, it's only just the beginning.

Also how can you know which to get before reviews are done on the Ti?

The GTX780s are now going to be $50 cheaper according to anandtech so I'd much rather get that than an R290X, but again, wait a couple of weeks for the Ti

The prices have dropped massively already so I don't think they'll drop any further. The non-ref 290x's will probably be around £500 - £600 when they come out (at a guess).

The 780's do look really tempting at the moment, but it might be better waiting to see how the 780 Ti performs before making a decision. I think the price drops are both to make way for the arrival of the 780 ti and to compete very aggressively with the 290x.

The 780 does look like the better buy at the moment.

Yea i think i might wait to see the 780ti but unless its out of this world amazing, i wont be spending £550 on a GPU. £400 is already pushing it for me.

The 780 Ti has to outperform the titan by quite a margin to make it a sensible buy at £550 for me personally.
