which should i go for? the 650d or 600t white? i prefer the 650d for the look but which would be better at cooling for an air cooler (aiming for the nh-d14)?

***other suggestions completely welcome - For example i saw the Fractal "Arc" got a good review but i dunno bout the materials of it

I currently air cool my 650D, I loved the classy Obsidian looks, but an 800D is too big. Firstly it's the best case I've ever owned for looks and more importantly build quality, and in 6 months I have never had any porbs, but then again I binned the standard fans, put 1 of my spare 200mm CM Megaflows in the front and 2 Noctua NF-P14's in the roof, it all runs super quiet and v.cool

Both have the same layout and specs, just the 650d is bit taller to support bigger radiators at the top, they will do well on air colling and run silent. But i think the SilverStone RV03 is one of the best aircooled cases in the market and has a unique design case and have the SilverStone quality and i think little cheaper also. Just take a look at Tom's review of it.

Yeah i had seen the review for that but the laout for me seems confusing. yeah its about 20 quid cheaer i saw, but im not sure bout its looks. This is my first build too so dont want somethinbg thats too complicated

@icekube - did you swap fans straight away? cause id have to stick with stock ones probably for a bit at least

Yes mate, but only becuase I had the fans lying around from a previous build and I wanted to add a wee bit of colour. But the airflow is pretty good out of the box, I just prefer the same amounts of airflow and keeping everything as quiet as possible, but the fan controler will sort you out just fine if you hook up the original fans

I personaly like the 600T white and will be using it myself for my next build althought the RV3 is a better case but in the end you want one that you are going to be happy to live with everyday

I like the 600T, But far as watercooling goes i hope you're prepared to Cut the Crap out of it to get watercooling to fit, They Really do need it, I have no idea why they didn't Add like another 25mm in the roof to fit a full 60MM RAD, The only Case i would consider for Water from the off is the over used TJ07 because with half the mods you can use a 480 and a 360 rad

Or no mods a 480 and a 240.

I must admit that for my next rig, which I plan to water cool from the start, the TJ07 was my only choice. It's only the recent Caselabs review here that presented me with viable options. I've not ruled out the TJ07 yet, it's currently tied with the Caselabs M8.

Did you mention in another thread you're getting/have just got a TJ07 Natashaful? If so I'll certainly be following your build log...

I'll be getting one soon yes, Problem with Caselabs is i worked out a TH10 would cost me near £600 to bring over here, I can mod the hell out of a TJ07 and run a 480 + 360, Case mods inc the case £240 inc paint, So yeh.. I can't justifiy the Caselabs they are well priced untillthe 20% tax is whacked onto etc.

Ah, another case of £ = $ then? Shame as that too takes the Caselabs out of the running for me, great as it would be to get one. So, you will run a 480 in the base and mod the top to fit a 360 right? I assume you basically cannot run a 360 in the top without modding? I did see a TJ07 with a pair of 480's in the base but one would surely heat the the other to a certain degree. However I guess overall cooling would still be pretty good.

I just got my 2nd GTX 570 today and while it works fine it is a little on the noisy side when pushed. This means I'm thinking water for this rig even more seriously, though to do it right I either need to pop an external rad on my CM 690 II OR pop the lot into a new case...the new case I had originally pictures for my next build, but I get impatient...

To OP: I sorta went Off Topic, sorry, but I hope discusions of other cases contributes to your final choice

Damn, I wanna order a TJ07 now...

Thats the thing you can fit duel 480s in he TJ07 but you can mod the roof to take a 360 as well, If you're up for brackets you can go duel 480s in the base, 360 in the front 360 in the roof, You just don't need anything bigger really then a decent 480Rad with push pull, If you have a 360 in the roof with a 480 in the base.. it's just going to cool everything perfectly fine.

I know alot of people say it's over used etc.. but srsly, Get it painted then, Hell get it airbrushed.

Yeah, I'd been thinking (well, pondering would be more accurate lol) putting a good thick 480 in the base and using my existing 360 in the roof. That should keep my 2500k @ 4.6 & 2x 570's happy.

I still need to spec up my entire water loop really, getting down to the detail of exact parts and the precise fixtures and fittings I'd need. I'd originaly put together a fairly loose list of items to WC my 690 II, but I think that might be an exercise in futility without going an external rad especially now I've gone SLi. I MUCH prefer a neat all internal build anyway. Maybe I should employ your services to help me with this build eh? I'll shout you a TJ07 for your trouble

I think the TJ07 is over used purely because it's a case that gives you the options you need when water cooling, I'm happy to pay for such flexibility.

Scoob.
