650, 750 or 850

How much power would I need to run a Phenom II and a GTX 580 (my non existant one) and two hard drives? I think the TX 650 would be enough for one, but I'd like to be sure. The one I had is out of commision, as it has become a fire hazard (fan is making odd noises and the voltage is unstable). The other options are the HX750 and the HX850. The 850 is the same price as the 750 on NCIX ($155), but it's slightly out of my price range, as the tax and shipping push it to $190. It would nice for some adviceas I've been reduced to using an HP Pavillion dv9000. It gets all of 800 PPD

The 650 should do it im using a HX650 and it runs an i5-750 and gtx460 and 4hdd's with no problems but if you plan on updating later then go the HX850

The 650 will be fine for pretty much any any single cpu/gpu setup (minus the odd one that has a million hard drives/fans/lights and a coffee maker to boot.

If there is a chance you may get a 2nd one in the future the stretch to the 850 would be worth it.

How about the HX 650 for CA$130? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139012 from newegg, the modular cables would be nice + its silver instead of bronze rated, and its only a little more than the TX.

Thanks for the heads up. You guys always seem to have my back. If the shipping wasn't so cheap, I'd price match it over at NCIX (they got my last order of an HDD, 5 SickleFlows and 4 y-splitters to me in 18 hours). Newegg will take a week ro 10 days, but the $20+ off is worth it.

Edit: I don't have a first 580, but if I did, I would be folding with it. The 32 minute TPF of my notebook is bumming me out. To go from 5 to 6K PPD, down to 700 or less (saw 600PPD at one point) sucks.

Edit 2: down to 183 PPD
