500R with some modding

looks alot better now you removed the yellow sticker from the psu.

also did you remove the mesh of the roof? looks like its been expertly cut so kudos great mod and nice build :D

Much better without the sticker.
Maybe consider a bottom intake fan?

EDIT: I didnt catch that u already had turned the PSU around, so my previous posts got all wrong as this was what i suggest u do :)

I already ordered one ;)

Thanks but there is no mash in the roof. The only mash i removed is in the side panel.

I didnt catch the post where u said that u had the PSU turned around, so several of my post came out wrong, aswell as my undestanding of your answers.... ^_^

Mesh man, mesh :) Mash is what u do with potatoes to make....mash :D
U should achieve postive pressure when the new fan arrives.

It could even be a good idea to look into a fan-controller to regulate each fan individually.

What u got mounted in those front-bays?

I hate the idea of external fan controllers sorry mate.. I am gonna get some 3pin Y-cables and extensions to control them from my mainboard.

I got a 3,5" to 5,25" adapters and placed my 2TB HDD there to be able to get rid of the hard drive cages. My ssd is hidden in the back on the case.

Yup, did see the SSD. Software-control of the fans is nice, but with splitters u have to regulate pairs right?
Have you considered sleeving your other cables?

Yeah i am but i dont care because i will use 1 y-cable for the h100i and i y-cable for the front intake fans. All other fans will run at 5V.

I ordered 30 meters of the paracord and then ran out. Not quite sure if i gonna get some new becaue i am pretty happy on how the case looks like now. I dont relly care how it looks from behind :D

a really nice looking rig, besides the cable mess on the back. if you spend a couple hours on fixing those it will be perfect.
where did you get the braided cables from? sleeved them on your own?

Like i already said i really dont care how my rig looks in the back :D I am happy how it is now and after 3 days of modding with TheGnaa11 and his yellow mod i am not that much motivated to invest much more time on cable managing.

Yes i bought some paracord and heatshrink and sleeved them myself.

Hi there,

Really liking this build. Got me confused for a little while with all that talk of a yellow PSU sticker until I caught a glimpse of it in the first pic .

Two minor details:
If it was my personal rig I might consider painting the heat pipes on the GPU (and if you're getting really, really picky, the brown edge of the GPU PCB with a fine model making brush, but that might be a little too OCD ;)).
I would probably chose black, but maybe black heat pipes and a blue PCB edge would go together nicely? Or the other way around, not quite sure.

Secondly: Presuming the optical drive is absolutely necessary, how about a stealth mod to make it disappear into the front completely?

But as said, overall I think it's a very neat build. Nice choice in the white lighting; I think colour should emanate from the components, not the lighting itself (with a few exceptions).

Thanks man :)
Yeah i removed the Sticker on the psu beause i realised how shabby it looked like :D
Unfortunately i do need to optical drive because i have loads of Music CD and older programms on CD. But i have also placed my 3,5" HDD there to get rid of the hard drive cages. So i think it is fine.
I'd like to remove the 5,25" cages and get a badass 360 80mm radiator in there but you cant have everything ;)
I will be upgrading my video card in the near future and get rid of the old one so that will be fixed as well.

Thanks everyone for the nice feedback and the tips :)

Awesome indeed - very similar to what I am trying to complete on my end, but with a different color scheme. Favorite part is your removal of the Side Mesh (Not the entire side panel) and replacing it with a window.

Did you have to cut the mesh out or is the 500R side mesh removable with screws?

No, there are no screws - mesh is hold in place with a sort of clamping (bad english-sry) Heres a link to easy mod pics wich u could have found if u did a search on the forum: http://translate.google.it/translate?sl=it&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=it&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hwupgrade.it%2Fforum%2Fshowpost.php%3Fp%3D36385418%26postcount%3D253

Thanks for the link. I wouldn't have asked if my searches yielded that result already (I kept finding guides and the usual information to create a full side window to replace the whole panel and not just the mesh. That was the specific guide I was hoping to find which addresses the mesh area and not the whole "cut out big hole and replace hole with glass or acrylic" guide).
I appreciate the link. Roooker's system looks far better than mine :D but I'll post mine in the forums when complete.
