Just brought my 4770K back out of my box of goodies to give it a go and I never once got to 70c when stress testing with XTU usinpost my H100 to cool the CPU. So either I have a very cool CPU, the OPs CPU mount is poor or he has a very hot CPU. I would be more willing to believe the mounting issue as there isn't a chance in hell that the cooler difference accounts for a 20c core temperature variance. Also I was running with the CPU core at 1.33V and I'm running 200MHz faster than the OP so if anything I should be running hotter.
Thanks for the input. I am going today to buy new thermal paste and some isopropanyl for cleaning. So will try it later. I am usually hitting around 70-80. I post tonight if something hasachanged
