Hi, i've changed my budget down £100 which will limit me quite alot, but i have a decent spec...

AMD Athlon II X4 640 (£75 - Can't overclock really, anyone come up with a i3 spec?)

Palit GTX460 SONIC 1gb (£135 - Can overclock a little)

ASROCK M3A770DE 770 (£50 - Supports CrossFireX (if i ever switch ATI), AMD overdrive for a Phenom upgrade and AM3: BARGAIN!)

Coolmaster Elite 310 with 500w PSU (£60 - Very affordable and enough power)

Samsung SpinPoint F3 7200rpm 500gb (£40 - Fast Harddrive, very spacious)

Corsair XMS3 1600mhz 2x2gb (£40 - 2x2 configuration, very fast)

I have about £10 left from buying all this, does anyone have a faster suggestion too fill thee full £400? Maybe a better CPU needing a different board such as i3 or a PSU with PCI Ex x2... Any know a GTX460 equivalent in ATI for a few quid more? As i do have Crossfirex capabilities...

If anyone can find me a deal for a case and PSU with 2 PCI express under £75ish that would be great!

the 460 would be a better card imho ive currently got 2x 5770 in my system and nothing but trouble(crossfire) they are ok on their own however, if you could strecth to the MSI 460 cyclone it wouldnt be a bad choise it out performs the 5770's also a 460 will set you back around £120 if you shop around...there is the extra 25 you had

Dont need a board that supports crossfire

and i only buy gigabyte boards from the experience I have had with asus and asrock.

not much to add realy apart from if you have a few pounds spare you can get a 1tb F3 for under £5 more on ocuk.

Well for 408 pounds, you can get the Aria i3 overclocked bundle, the Palit 460 Sonic 1GB, 500GB 7200RPM HDD and a cheapo case that comes with a powersupply. It's a whisker over your budget, but it will be faster.

if your budget is very strict you should consider an athlon tri-core processor http://www.ebuyer.com/product/235421. I built my system with a athlon ii 445 and have had no proformance issues in any of my games (crysis, total war, supcom etc) . For the case+psu bundle i currently use this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-225-CM&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=# and i run on it the tri core mensioned above with an GTX 460 768mb and have not had any problems (you will heve to use 2 molex becouse it has only 1 pci-e)
