Building a PC for my mum and her parts arrived today and it just occurred to me that her chip might be better than mine. Details are as title, are these any good?

I will try it tomorrow anyhow.

This is the code of the box:

Bx80532pg3000dsl6wk

Does that help? I cannot see it at the moment as I am at work and had to get the GF to read it for me when the idea of a swap occurred to me.

in the sticker it says FPO/BATCH tell us this number

+ at the bottom it says packdate

its a 30capper..sl6WK so yeah its got some good chances to be a good chip :)

Thanks!

OK more details

on front of chip:

3 GHZ/512/800

SL6WK MALAY

L349B012

M352B451

0390

Sticker:

FPO#L349B012

Version C30419-010

MM#852371

sounds promising ferret :D my SL6WK cud only do 3.7Ghz and that was at 1.8v with mach2 cooling :( but then again was only a 12 capper too :P now i has a SL6WU the same as gorby :)

L349 is good afaik

u never know though...

twice now comparing my cpu to another 2 identical ones has proven me that no 2 cpus are the same once again

once with a q322 2.4C and lately with a 3.0C L401 iirc

both overclocked different to another two identical cpus...bought from the same retailer etc...

Cheers, I am rather excited to be honest, just need to leave it till tomorrow as 8 pints of 5.2% lager is not going to help tonight.

Well I am currently priming away at 4.2 GHz, looks like it will probably be stable here on 1.7 - 1.73 volts.

Still have to see if my Geil Ultra PC4000 will do 280 FSB, it has done 275 before so fingers crossed :)

you got ure volt mods done aint u ferret? last night i spent a while trying to find stable settings (not volt modded yet) and seems if i put 1.825 thru the CPU its stable enuff to do most things, but wen i went to encode a HL map which uses multi threads and 100% CPU it crashed :( i downed straight to 3.75 (as my last chip wasnt stabnle at this) at 1.7v and it was perfectly stable, during load it went down to 1.6v but was 100% stable, roll on vdroop :D

Well I have had to drop to 275 FSB 4.116GHz 1.7 - 1.73 volts. 1:1 2.5,4,4,7 3v.

Thats still an improvement from my last chip, strange things happened after 275 FSB, maybe I should try a different bios (16 atm).

hmmmmz, maybe ure chip has hit its max at 4.1, wen i get my mods done im not sure wether i will push mine, simply becoz:

1.) Evap temps are lowered due to the extra heat kicked out

2.) more chance of the CPU screwing things up due to more volts and stuff

3.) Shortens the life more

Ill prolly settle for a nice round number which is acheieved by 1,75 or less votes (24/7) :D

ive jus got sum new oem p4s in at work. found a 3gig sl6wu 30 capper and also a 2.8m0. the info on the chip if the 3gig are as follows sl6wu malay, L351A889, M401A519,1171. any1 kno if its any good?

warlord, no CPUs are the same man, even if its from a good batch it cud still be complete crap, ure best bet is checking it yourself, having said that, with it being a SL6WU and a 30 capper it sounds promising.
